Manatee County accepting applications for<br />
Children’s Services Advisory Board<br />
Manatee County is now accepting applications for six open seats<br />
on the Children’s Services Advisory Board (CSAB). The volunteer<br />
board makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners<br />
about priorities and expenditures of the County’s dedicated<br />

Manatee Libraries Partners With SCORE Again<br />
to Bring New Meet-Up Workshops<br />
Manatee Libraries announced today a new four-part monthly series<br />
in partnership with Manasota SCORE that takes small business<br />
owners through the lifecycle of a business.<br />
The “Your Business From Start to Finish” series, which concludes<br />
September 25 at Downtown Central Library, touches on a variety of<br />
helpful tips, including designing an elevator pitch, safety and security,<br />
disaster planning, community giving and exit planning strategies.<br />
This series is the latest installment of business classes offered by<br />
Manatee Libraries, winner of this year’s Florida Library<br />
Association’s Libraries Mean Business Award and Manasota<br />
SCORE, 2017 Mid-size market SCORE Chapter of the Year. This<br />
is the third year Manatee Libraries and SCORE have partnered to<br />
bring informational free workshops to small business owners. Last<br />
year’s focus was financial while the year before that was social<br />
media. All workshops have been well attended. Ericka Dow,<br />
Information Services Supervisor, says her team is committed to<br />
providing relevant topics identified through outreach events and<br />
surveys.<br />
