interesting approach with the projects they take<br />
on these days: “We specialise in the conversion of<br />
buildings with an interesting history or provenance,<br />
including period properties, mews schemes,<br />
warehouses and industrial units. Our developments<br />
draw on the history of a building, creating a brand<br />
and preserving the integrity of the space.”<br />
An example of this is an apartment development<br />
the group have recently finished in Clapham;<br />
an old metal works, rich in architectural and<br />
industrial details: “These are period features of the<br />
future,” she says, explaining how such features were<br />
preserved and celebrated in the refurbishment.<br />
It is these details that make the schemes stand<br />
out from the rest. Still called the Metal Works,<br />
the apartments were sold within two weeks.<br />
“I work with a historian who helps me research<br />
the background of the property,” she explains.<br />
“We also have a fantastic CGI designer in Serbia.<br />
He uses real pieces of what will actually be in the<br />
space. We make big blow-ups of them and the<br />
guys working on site can see what the properties<br />
are going to look like as they are building them.”<br />
