the business. “Furnishing a house is never a chore. I can have a<br />
good eye, but also good business acumen,” she says. “Everyone<br />
has a budget and it is a sign of bad planning when the budget is<br />
exceeded. I’ll often look at TK Maxx for items like blankets and bits<br />
and bobs – they are good value and good quality and there was that<br />
big trend for lots of cushions, but they’re not used so much now.”<br />
Upstairs the feeling of light and space continues. The<br />
bedrooms are furnished with neutrals and monochromes,<br />
with the epitome of this the huge bathroom that serves<br />
the master bedroom. It is in the middle of the house,<br />
with the bath situated in the centre of the room.<br />
“I like to sit in the bath and just look straight through to<br />
the garden,” Lauren says wistfully. This is where she thinks<br />
up ideas and plans for future projects. She has been debating<br />
