1 FOX KNIVES CHAMPAGNE SABER<br />
The tradition of opening a Champagne bottle<br />
with a saber was born in the Napoleonic<br />
era. The “sabrage” with the Briquet saber<br />
was founded in 1812 by the general himself<br />
after winning a battle. This unique custom<br />
has survived to this day, and not only in<br />
France. It is a special highlight at any festive<br />
occasion. When done correctly, it generally<br />
works without issue.<br />
After the wire basket is removed from the<br />
cork, one drives the blade of the saber along<br />
the bottleneck and onto the thickening of<br />
the neck below the bottle head. The whole<br />
bottle head comes off with a bang and the<br />
Champagne flows out. Any resulting glass<br />
fragments fly forward, propelled by the<br />
pressure. The torn off bottle head with the<br />
cork will be labeled with the date and will<br />
then serve as a reminder of the celebration<br />
or as a talisman. True to the original, the<br />
especially high quality Champagne Saber by<br />
Fox is manufactured in the famous cutlery<br />
workshop in Maniago, Italy.<br />
The blade is made of corrosion resistant<br />
T5MOV stainless steel. The sturdy handle<br />
is adorned with an intricate, elegant design.<br />
This Champagne Saber is certainly ready<br />
for any challenges at celebrations. Comes<br />
complete with an elegant wooden box and<br />
a decorative stand. Overall length 53 cm.<br />

The champagne saber for the special<br />
occasions in life. The fascinating Damascus<br />
blade (4mm thick) is deliberately not<br />
sharpened, and is made from 200 layers<br />
of carbon steel (non-stainless). The hand<br />
guard also consists of hand forged, 200 layer<br />
Damascus steel. Matching the exclusive<br />
blade, the handle is crafted of finely grained,<br />
beautifully polished cocobolo wood. Also<br />
features decorative handle screws, made<br />
of polished stainless steel, and a deep red<br />
handle cord with tassel. Limited to just<br />
200 pieces worldwide, and delivered in a<br />
decorative solid wood box, with a certificate<br />
of authenticity. Overall length 47 cm. Blade<br />
