The petition It’s such a shame how a group of citizens could come together to try to remove Cotton Valley’s mayor? This is the action of sore losers. Deeper than that, these are those who have been in control of the town of Cotton Valley for centuries and can’t stand to let it go. The petition was their way of trying to gain control. It is amazing how so many people can come together and “agree” to do wrong to another human. Yes, I am referring to the petition. Ninety (90%) percent of the names on the petition were of white citizens. That’s not unusual. Most whites will stick together against Blacks whether wrong or right. I recently heard about a man who spent 30 years in prison (on death row) for a
1985 crime he did not commit. The law enforcement officer told him, “You going down for this crime because your boss is white, your lawyer is white, and the judge is white”. You do the math on the meaning of that statement. The officer also told said, “I don’t believe you did the crime But one of y’all Blacks going to take the fall for it. “All of y'all Blacks always say you didn’t do something. How can a group of people stick together against a man because of the color of his skin? Thirty (30) years in prison, falsely accused. We can’t compare what happened to this young Black man to how they all grouped together and sign a petition against Mayor Alexander. Wrong is wrong. It is wrong to sign a petition to remove Joseph
