What’s in your ballot? 

My guess is that if you’re a republican, 

you have never seen the inside of a gay 

anything. We know that because of the 

many times Republicans get caught fucking 

a member of the same sex. They act like 

they just landed in a deferent universe. 

But IF, you read their party platform they 

spend a considerable amount writing 

about Gays. Adoption, Marriage, religious 

objections over protections and the damn 

radical judges that fucking allowed it all in 

the first place. 

But their wrath is not just on the gays but 

also women, minorities, and immigrants. 

You would not even believe republicans 

had that much hate. And how sensitive 

they've become, as if they might be 

mocking us again. 

So this is not your grand dad's party. This 

is a party that embraces nationalism and 

white control. And if that does not scare 

you, then perhaps we should be scared of 

you. Because once white nationalism takes 

root, America will have joined the rest of 

the world rotted by internal terrorism. And 

the activists will be busy fighting for their 

own lives to worry about those in need. 

Those that know me, also know I left the 

corporate world because of its greed and 

dictatorship leanings that I feared were 

getting worse and worse. 

I was sure society would hit a tipping 

point that we could not fix or even dial 

back much of the damage. Like a high 

watermark when a wave crests on an entire 

community, leaving it lost or broken with 

irreparable damage as the wave simply 

falls back to the sea. Like an unstoppable 

monster that is sure to return. We have 

studied the effects of natural disaster, and 

generally we act on it. In California, we 

help foster kids attend college. We do know 

that because they have been underwater 

and so devastated by the experience for 

even a few days, it literally ruined their life. 

Imagine a city flooded by a storm today 

that may or not be the result of climate 

change. Because somehow we have elected 

people that refuse to even study it. The 

same group that separates children even 

when we say it was wrong then and it is 

wrong now. Remember, we also spend 

millions on children broken by child 

separation. 

But that is a small fraction of the things 

he has done. Even when we take away the 

bigger things like Russian collusion, or 

even minimizing the killing of a journalist 

because they own Trump. 

That's not the worst. 

The worst Trump has done is take away the 

hope of a better tomorrow. Who the fuck 

does this and gets away with it? But that is 

what we have with Trump.

immense popularity prompted VH1 

to crown her “KING” after reporting 

that she “is the first transgender

SO enough of this bullshit. We are 

not just democrats, but a majority of voters 

that understand reason and justice and we 

also now know there are a hell of a lot of 

voters without reason at all. With enough 

votes to tilt the scale to stupid. We can 

tell, they never mention actual Democrat 

or Republican values but they say b.. bu... 

um, WALLS yes, build that wall. Like the 

bestial monster that the equally monstrous 

Frankenstein created. Trump's little monsters 

can speak, albeit in short, stunted sentences. 

Like "Wall good, taxes bad and illegals bad." 

In a way that shows little understanding 

of what they say, but act delighted by the 

negative reaction they get. 

OK enough off that too. Facts, statistics, and 

reason won't sway the monsters that lack the 

desire to learn our side. We get that most 

gays of a certain age know people that live 

and die never understanding us. At DHS 

pride last weekend I watched young people 

taking the lead, and unafraid to be who 

they are, as well as older people too. Putting 

together a Pride is a miracle in the first 

place, but successfully corralling that many 

"woke" people with individual thoughts 

and ideas deserve applause for the entire 

DiversityDHS team. 

So what can we do?

I believe for the most part, good Republicans 

and Democrats have held our candidates 

accountable. Democrats have moved forward 

to put in organization rules to mandate equal 

representation in its leadership that does not

So it should be easier to vote for LGBT, 

women, and minorities, as long as they are 

democrat or not trump supporters. This 

may be the last safe election ever held in 

this nation. This election is what the end 

of democracy looks like. It could also mark 

the beginning of something else that could 

play-out for years before we ever feel like 

a Democracy again. We vote because all 

the other options we once had are gone, 

Democracy a 'rule by the people', derived 

from the Greek 'demos', for the 'common 

people', and 'kratos', for 'rule' or 'strength'. 

This Voting fever only means our selected 

servants no longer represent us. We are 

tweeted at, but never listened to. 

We are told what is best for us, and it is less 

than they get. When they know your vote 

does not count, they wave a filthy hand in 

our face.

"Taking The Blame" 

I've learned over time that "taking the blame" 

sometimes is ok. 

When you’re being picked on, name called, or 

just being treated like crap, the only reasons 

being because "Your ego is out of control" but 

there's nothing to back it up. 

This story goes back a few years ago when a 

friend of mine was being harassed at a show. 

It was constant and saddening, but being a 

trooper, never said anything because like 

most, she needed that income along with her 

daytime job. "The Host " of the show was the 

one making all those comments, but it goes 

further than that, since her drag family worked 

alongside her in the show everyone else was 

treated differently especially her, since she 

wasn't part of the click. The host would have 

a nasty attitude just because she felt like it, or 

would have some type of excuse as if nobody 

had to deal with real life at the end of the day. 

This is an example of many things that 

occurred, and rules of fairness where broken,

on the others, making it a difficult workplace 

as the same mentality caused poor treatment 

by others that felt more entitled. During this 

time my friend was constantly standing up for 

herself and got tired of being called fat, which 

constantly ads up after a while. 

One day she comes in and the host 

automatically has a rotten attitude and the 

other girl late as she is every week, walks in 

and also tosses entitled attitude as well. Then 

"my friend" had enough and decided this is the 

day she was going to speak up. She decided to 

talk back because apparently it was ok to show 

attitude.

and cursed back. Now two wrongs don't make 

a right but in reality you can only let others 

disrespect you so many times. 

The host of course goes to management tells 

her side and the other girl calls management 

to apologize about what happened, scared 

that she would be fired. Sometimes calling 

management isn't the best idea. In this case 

management take the sides of the host, which 

leaves my friend kicked out of a show that 

she's been part of for years. There arguments 

going back and forth from host to entertainer 

through private messages and nasty things are 

being said to one and other both parties are 

in the wrong, but no one admits it, the host 

continues the bash the girl and there it goes all 

over again. 

Back to square one in a time when the LGBT 

community needs unity more than ever. My 

friends, the entertainer decides to be the bigger 

person and says ok I'll take the blame. Sadly, 

the host says nothing about it. 

What I want to say is that fighting with other 

entertainers is never the best thing to do 

especially if it's a small town. We need to 

have compassion enough to help each other, 

love one another, not bash! Bashing will get 

you nowhere and at the end of the day learn 

to respect yourself, Love yourself and don't 

ever swoop down to the level of anyone acting 

unprofessional but remain kind, loving, caring, 

and show respect especially if that's what you 

want.

HWY 62 OPEN STUDIO ART 

TOURS - WINI BREWER AND BILL 

LEIGH BREWER 

This is the 17th year of the Hwy 62 Open 

Studio Art Tours. It has grown from 

the original 16 artist who formed the 

Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council, 

to over 300 members today. The Tour 

has over 150 artists participating with 

90 studios open for visitors throughout 

the area along Hiway 62 from Morongo 

Valley to Wonder Valley at the far East 

end of the tour. The tour extended 

for two weekends October 13-14 and 

October 20-21. Unfortunately the first 

weekend saw a major storm with an 

unusual amount of wind and rain causing 

some of the roads to be impassable. It 

would be near to impossible to even visit 

all of the artists and studios on the tour 

during the two weekend event. A detailed 

catalog of the event was provided with a 

brief overview of each featured artist and 

their addresses. Of the artists that this 

writer had the privilege to visit, two are 

featured in this article. Others will be 

featured in upcoming articles. 

The Morongo Valley is strewn with 

outstanding, talented artists, with a 

variety of creative abilities. Two of these 

we had the pleasant opportunity to 

visit, were Wini and Bill Leigh Brewer. 

They live in Morongo Valley on a rural 

road in a residence with two attached

studios for each of their work. Wini has 

shown her work in numerous shows and 

museums throughout the U.S. She has 

work in private collections in the U.S., 

Canada, and Europe. Her work would 

fall into the category of painting but it 

transcends just painting to a variety of 

techniques, including collage, stenciling, 

and scratching to express her sensitivity 

for the subjects that she is exposing. Her 

subjects are varied usually with a nature 

theme. Bees is one subject for which she 

has completed a book of her paintings 

on the subject. The book is forwarded by 

Thomas Trofimuk. a fiction writer and 

poet who introduces the book with his 

experiences with bees. 

Bill Leigh Brewer is an avid photographer 

of nature and the land forms of the desert 

areas in Southern California. He is a 

commercial photographer also shoots 

subjects primarily for the automobile 

industry. You have undoubtedly 

seen some of his work in magazines 

and advertisements for varied auto 

manufacturers from Lexus to Toyota, 

etc.. He likes to work with extreme 

perspective as the large horizontal photo 

in this article shows. He also plays with 

light both natural and added, to provide 

more dramatic effect in his photography. 

Each of these artists are involved in the 

preservation of nature and concerns of 

climate change and it's effects which is 

demonstrated visually in their work.

Do you feel that Hollywood limits 

your roles based on gender identity? 

Yes, but we’re trying to change that. 

In 2015, you taped four episodes 

of Bravo’s Hit reality series, Real 

Housewives of Atlanta, but your 

part did not air. How do you 

reflect on that experience? 

I enjoyed filming and I enjoyed the 

ladies. What is meant for you is for 

YOU! Obviously that wasn’t for me... 

scripted prime time television seems 

to do me justice, though. 

What does your average day look 

like? 

I’m proud of that! Happy for that! 

But, we have a long way to go. 

What is your favorite charity or 

cause? 

TEA, Trans Empowerment of 

America, a non-profit I started to 

assist and uplift the trans community. 

What project(s) do you have coming 

up? 

My first book “Memoirs of a 

Mermaid” will be released in March 

2019. It’s my baby. I’m so proud of 

it and excited to finally be telling my 

full story in my own words. 

Tell me a secret-a good one 

It depends. Some days I wake up at 

5:00am to arrive on set at 6:30am 

to film a long day of Star... While 

other days, I can sleep until 2:00pm 

and go shopping until my arms 

can’t carry anything else! My schedule 

is constantly changing, but what 

remains consistent is that my hair 

is ALWAYS done... In bed, on set, in 

a pool or even the late night grocery 

store run; that wig will be laid, no 

exception.

US SENATOR – 

DIANNE FEINSTEIN 

I have had the pleasure to work 

with the Senator for several years now on various 

projects, including the massively successful $! B 

in funds to State Hwy 91 through Riverside and 

Corona, when I was Chairman of the Riverside 

County Transportation Commission and major 

environmental work that caused the Snow to Sand 

National Park. She is strong, formidable and does 

the work. Watching her in DC she is whirlwind 

of activity working as Ranking Member on both 

the Judiciary and Intelligence Committee. At this 

juncture in time we cannot afford to give up seniority 

for a fresh face with a more liberal line. She is 

noted as being “cautious” but she still believes in the 

old Senate that quiet calm discussions can lead to 

compromise both sides can work with. My vote is 

with Dianne. 

KEVIN deLEON 

Similarly, I have worked with 

Kevin on the state level through my work with the 

Southern CA Association of Governments. He has 

been a true leader on climate and environment, 

immigration rights, along with LGBT issues and like 

Senator Feinstein he is a strong opponent of military 

and semi- military weapons. I have deep affection 

for Kevin and I know there will be a future for him 

politically in California or in Washington. I only 

wish him the best. 

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER – 

RICARDO LARA 

Ricardo is a State Senator 

representing the Bell Gardens area. His opponent, 

Steve Poizner is a former commissioner who did a 

decent job when he was first elected, but that was 

in 2007 and much has changed since then. Ricardo 

comes from the streets of Long Beach where is 

parents built a strong work ethic in him. He has 

put that ethic to use in the Legislature as know he 

will in the Commissioner’s office. He is a good guy 

and good friend. California will only benefit from 

electing Ricardo Lara and I stand with him 

US REPRESENTATIVE – 

RAUL RUIZ 

I campaigned for Raul when he first 

ran. I gave speeches, gave money and anything else 

the campaign requested. I truly believed he could 

win against Mary Bono – and he did. Over the last 

two years our personal relationship has lessened and 

I more concerned about his long-time future. I wish 

he would be in district with the public a bit more 

often and I wish he would be one of the leaders in 

the House and not following the Speaker’s direction 

80% of the time and vote with the Republicans the 

other 20%. He is not on high profile committees 

but they are important to those who depends on 

them; the House Energy and Commerce Committee 

I have not heard or read anything from him on the 

Indians in North Dakota, where the state legislature 

has fundamentally shut over 10,000 voters being 

ineligible to vote. He has done a great job on 

Veteran’s issues, helloing with education, health 

care and housing. I applaud him on those efforts. 

Regardless of my personal feelings, Raul still votes 

more with the district than against and is certainly 

a better representative than Ms. Bono was. I will be 

vote for Ruiz. 

KIMBERLIN BROWN PELZER 

This is a joke foisted upon us by the State 

Republican Party. Ms., Pelzer has no experience 

other being a “former soap opera actress” That is an 

honorable profession but doesn’t rank up there with 

a doctor who has saved several passengers on place 

trips to and from Palm Springs to Washington. The 

Republicans have many local officials with the proper 

training and resources who would have represented 

the party better; folks like Scott Matas Linda Evans. 

Pelzer however is not ready for prime time
