Shore for over five years.
They have been there
for us through thick
and thin. When my
husband passed away
and I didn’t know
how to tell
Gerry, AFCNS
was there
to help.”
TREATING PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
While the most usual form of high blood pressure relates to the arteries
throughout the body, “pulmonary hypertension” (PH) is characterized by high
blood pressure in the lungs. With this complex and often misunderstood
disease, blood vessels in the lungs become stiff and narrow, causing the
right side of the heart to work harder to pump blood. The right side of the
heart is smaller and weaker than the more muscular left side because it only
pumps blood through the lungs. Treatments include Calcium Channel
Blockers (CCBs), which help decrease blood pressure; Endothelin Receptor
Antagonists (ERAs), which help prevent blood vessels from narrowing; and
Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors (PDE5 Inhibitors), which allow the lungs
to produce more of their own natural vasodilators.
While most pharmacies offer some level of compounding, most
compounding is done in pharmacies that have invested in the equipment
and training to do so safely and efficiently. The preparations offered by
these compounding pharmacies can be non-sterile or sterile. To learn
more, please call VILLAGE PHARMACY at 781-334-3133. We provide a
full spectrum of non-sterile compounding services. We also provide
non-sterile compounding solutions for your pet! Our pharmacy is located
in the Colonial Shopping Center.
HINT: Symptoms of PH include shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain,
light-headedness, and heart palpitations.
