For some art enthusiasts, the
COLOGNE FINE ART, which celebrates
its 50th anniversary in 2019, is
one of the most exquisite art fairs in Germany.
The unique mixture of old and
new, familiar and unusual, applied art,
craftsmanship and design, fine jewellery
and large-format sculptures once again
inspired around 14,500 visitors from
Germany and neighbouring countries in
November 2018.

ART brings together the epochs and
styles over the centuries and individual
collector’s passions. This creates new permit

und Zeichner Horst Antes für

Woerner aus Bangkok geehrt.

Cornelia Zinken, summing up the trade
fair days. Asiatics and period furniture
from the Biedermeier period were displayed
near each other as were contemporary
paintings and works of art from the
19th century. The fact that some galleries
presented works ready for museums
increased the feeling of the extraordinary,
which was also reinforced by the elegant
ambience of the fair. The exhibiting galleries
and dealers were enthusiastic about
the curiosity, knowledge and buying interest
of the visitors. Accordingly, sales were
good, ranging from three-figure to six-figure
sums.
COLOGNE FINE ART Prize of
2018 swent to the painter, sculptor and
draughtsman Horst Antes for his life’s
work. Galerie Simonis from Düsseldorf
and Galerie Michael Woerner from Bangkok
were honoured for the best booth
design.
The next COLOGNE FINE ART will
take place from November 21 to 24, 2019.
