Maurice Chatelain was borii and<br />

educated in Paris, France. He built<br />

radio equipment for the French Resistance<br />

during World War II and<br />

came to the United States in 1955 as<br />

an aerospace electronics engineer. He<br />

was one of the scientists who conceived<br />

and designed the Apollo spacecraft<br />

which landed on the moon. He<br />

is now semi-retired, working as a<br />

space consultant and as a writer.<br />

He<br />

lives in California with his wife and<br />

three sons.<br />
