Only 5 minutes is being added to the operation time!
Professor Dr Cihan Uras states that single dose
radiotherapy method cannot be applied to everyone and
gives the following information accordingly: “We can’t
apply this treatment to everyone. Because we have
certain criteria; the properties of the tumour are very
important to us. The patient’s age is also very important
to us. The size of the tumour should not be more than
2cm for instance. The biological features of the tumour
are very important as well. While performing preventive
surgery to patients who meet the criteria, we can
perform single dose radiotherapy during surgery. This
can be done by adding only 5 minutes to the operation
time.”
Decisions are being made with Radiation Oncologists
Dr. Cihan Uras who underlined that single dose
radiotherapy method was planned with Radiation
Oncologists, continued his words as follows. “This
practice is not made by only the surgeon’s decision
alone. As a general surgery team, if we see that the
patient is suitable for this method, we inform our
radiation oncology team or even specifically on our
breast radiation oncology team as well. We decide with
them. We apply the treatment to the patients, if they also
decide that this method is appropriate for the patient. In
other words, the decisions of the breast surgeon, breast
radiation oncologist and pathologist are very important
in making this decision. We act as trivet. The three of us
come together and decide on the appropriate patient.

uygun olduğunu görürsek radyasyon onkolojisi ekibimize
hatta spesifik olarak meme radyasyon onkolojisi
ekibimize söylüyoruz. Onlarla kararlaştırıyoruz. Onlar da
bu yöntemin hastaya uygun olduğuna karar verirlerse
hastalara uyguluyoruz. Yani bu kararı vermede meme
cerrahı, meme radyasyon onkoloğu ve patoloğun
kararları çok önemli. Üçlü ayak görevi görüyoruz.

“I lived the miracle. “
Fetbordh Krasta, 53-year-old breast cancer
patient, who has come to Turkey from Kosova
in order to get her health, said the following
words. “When my doctor in Kosovo advised me
to have the operation only from Mr Cihan, so I
immediately received an appointment, and came
to Turkey.” Biopsy and radiology tests were
performed on the same day. And then again, the
pathology report came out in 1 day accordingly.
Krasta, the mother of 2 children expressed her
feelings with the following words: “To tell you
the truth, I came to Turkey with lots of fears. But
thanks to single-dose radiotherapy, my fear was
also very short-lived. We’re done now. I’m so
happy. I’m going home in a very short time. It’s
a miracle, I’ve had the miracle. I am also very
grateful to Dr Cihan.”
“Mucizeyi yaşadım!”
Kosova’dan Türkiye’ye gelerek bir günde
sağlığına kavuşan 53 yaşındaki meme kanseri
hastası Fetbordha Krasta “Kosova’daki
hekimim ameliyatı sadece Cihan hocaya
yaptırmamı tavsiye edince ben de hemen
randevu alıp geldim” diyor. Aynı gün biyopsisi
ve radyoloji tetkikleri yapılan, yine hemen
arkasından patoloji raporu 1 günde çıkan 2
çocuk annesi Krasta şu sözlerle dile getiriyor
duygularını: “Korkulacak bir neticeyle
gelmiştim ama tek doz radyoterapi sayesinde
korkum da kısa sürdü, hemen işimiz bitti. Çok
mutluyum. Çok kısa sürede evime dönüyorum.
Bu bir mucize, mucizeyi yaşadım. Cihan
hocaya minnettarım.”
