In early diagnosis, cervical cancer results in 100% success in the treatment Roche Diagnostic Turkey, emphasizes that more than 500,001 women were diagnosed with cervix (cervical) cancer every year all around the world. Roche has also indicated that it is a preventable disease, and in order to get rid of it one of the most important elements is the early diagnosis 2 Istanbul, 28 January 2019 - Roche Diagnostics Turkey, is indicating that the cervix (cervical) cancer is the third most common cancer after breast and colon cancers in women, in the world. While it is noteworthy that it is the only type of cancer 2 that can be prevented, the Roche again underlines the importance of early diagnosis within the scope of the Month of Cervical Cancer Awareness determined by the Ministry of Health, Department of Cancer. For the early diagnosis of cervix (cervical) cancer which can be treatable with the percentage %100, screenings are being performed free of charge for women 2 between the ages of 30-65 by Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Centres [KETEM]. These national community based screenings are being coordinated also by Family Health Centres (ASM) and Community Health Centres (TSM) as well. Early diagnosis by Pap-smear and HPV DNA testing Pap-smear test is one of the most important screening methods in cervical cancer which causes death of 266 thousand women every year. The Pap-smear test for the detection of abnormal cells by examination of cells in the cervix has helped reduce the number of women affected or died in the last 70 years by at least 80%. 3 Although this is the case, the test of every one of 3 patients with cervical cancer is being resulted as normal1. The HPV test, another screening method, determines whether there is any high-risk HPV type in the cervix. With HPV testing, women with a risk of cervical cancer can be identified many years before cancer develops, and cancer is prevented accordingly. 4 Women who have a negative HPV test are unlikely to have cervical cancer in the following five years.
