Lucy's Magazine Vol. 42

The idea behind this story
was to communicate
contemporary femininity
within an environment that
alludes to an industrial/
urban space—all the while
maintaining a minimalist
aesthetic.
To create the space, we played
with the idea of having a few
different types of texture:
Rough and hand-painted;
soft pink, almost desaturated
concrete; and raw, untreated
wood. This became our
environment to play in, and
was subtle enough where
the viewer can focus on our
model, Destene.
The styling was selected
with the same approach and
with what our stylist calls “no
noise.” Delicate looks using
designer pieces as Dries
Van Noten, Loewe, Prada,
Céline, Balenciaga—showing
a woman with personality and
savoir faire. There is a certain
simplicity and transparency to
each look Destine is in.
The hair and make up was
also chosen with these
concepts in mine. In order to
fits perfectly the modern /
contemporary wardrobe the
make up was kept minimal
and done in neutral and nude
shades like seen at the Spring
2019 Runways (Etro, Fendi,
Michael Kors, Noon by Noor,
Prabal Gurung). The look is
innocent but strong.
