Accessible accountants attract new clients<br />
An accountancy practice with<br />
a difference has started <strong>2019</strong><br />
by attracting 60 new clients.<br />
North Devon Accounts opened<br />
its office in Braunton last<br />
September and has quickly<br />
established itself as a firm that<br />
clients trust.<br />
Rachael Woosey started<br />
North Devon Accounts in 2005<br />
and practised professionally<br />
while bringing up her young<br />
children. Now her children are<br />
older, Rachael is developing<br />
the practice and, along with<br />
the new office, has built a team<br />
of five to manage all aspects<br />
of clients’ bookkeeping and<br />
accounting requirements,<br />
including payroll, pensions and<br />
CIS, cloud accounting and VAT.<br />
“I do it because I love<br />
accounts and got clients<br />
through word of mouth,” says<br />
Rachael. “Now I want to move<br />
the business to the next level.”<br />
Rachael is very clear about<br />
how she runs the business, with<br />
accessibility being an important<br />
requirement: “To have a<br />
small, local accountant really<br />
fits in here and people can ring<br />
up or pop in rather than it<br />
being formal.”<br />
As a busy working mother,<br />
Rachael is aware of the pressures<br />
people experience while<br />
running their businesses and<br />
the worry that receiving a letter<br />
from HMRC often causes.<br />
She founded North Devon<br />
Accounts to take away this<br />
stress so that clients can focus<br />
on business and not have to<br />
bring accounting worries home<br />
with them.<br />
“Some people are really<br />
nervous and don’t know what to<br />
do, but as soon as you get some<br />
order, it all comes together.”<br />
Rachael is also aware that<br />
many people need support<br />
when starting up a business<br />
or taking on employees.<br />
North Devon Accounts offers<br />

they are covering costs and<br />
making a profit on their activities,<br />
