seats up for election in the May 7 primary<br />
to take part. A question-and-answer segment<br />
is planned for candidates in the contested<br />

National Day of Prayer<br />
A National Day of Prayer observance will<br />
take place at noon May 2 at the <strong>Madison</strong><br />
County Courthouse. The theme is “Love<br />
One Another.” Prayer, praise and music are<br />

Parish Mission<br />

Thomas Blau, a Dominican friar ordained<br />
in 1999, will lead the program entitled, “He<br />
is risen.” Blau lives at St. Patrick Priory in<br />
Columbus. Pope Francis appointed him a<br />
missionary of mercy during the 2015-16 Jubilee<br />

member Doug Hyatt will teach this<br />

• LEGO Building Club. Ages 12 and<br />

The Plain City Lions Club’s Annual Dinner<br />

Public invited<br />
to submit art<br />
show entries<br />
The London Visual Arts Guild invites<br />
residents of London and surrounding<br />
communities to submit entries to the 5th<br />
Annual Community Art Exhibit. The<br />
theme is “Home Sweet Home.”<br />
People’s Choice awards will be given<br />
in the categories of mixed media, photography,<br />
poems and essays, paintings and<br />
drawings. Voting will take place through<br />
the month of May. The awards presentation<br />
is set for 6:30 p.m. June 7.<br />
Entries may be gallery wrapped or<br />
framed with wire on the back for hanging.<br />
There are no entry fees, however, if<br />
an entry is marked for sale, the guild<br />
would appreciate a 20 percent donation<br />
of the selling price. Entrants should include<br />
a card with their name, title of the<br />
piece, and whether or not the piece is for<br />
sale.<br />
Entries are due by <strong>April</strong> 28 and can be<br />
dropped off during regular gallery hours,<br />
which are: Thursdays and Sundays, 11<br />

Pollinator Plug Workshop<br />
The <strong>Madison</strong> Soil and Water Conservation<br />
District is holding a Pollinator Plug<br />
Workshop from 6 to 7 p.m. May 1 in the Engineer's<br />
Conference Room, 831 U.S. Rte. 42<br />
NE, London. Charlie Allen, Pheasants Forever<br />
Farm Bill biologist, will provide information<br />
on why native plants are beneficial,<br />
how to prepare a site for plugs, and other<br />
tips. “Plugs” are small seedlings grown in individual<br />
cells about 3 inches wide and deep.<br />
You may order plugs before or during the<br />
workshop ($90 for a mixed tray of native<br />
prairie flowers, 32 plugs per tray). To sign<br />

The Women’s Giving Society’s first annual<br />
<strong>Madison</strong> County Power of the Purse is<br />
