Chemistry Seismic and<br />
Life Safety Corrections<br />
To provide increased protection and accessibility for students, employees and the public,<br />
these buildings are being renovated to improve their seismic and fire safety in conjunction with<br />
the construction of multiple ADA improvements. The seismic strengthening includes foundation<br />
upgrades, concrete bracing and polymer-reinforced columns; fire safety developments include<br />
new fire department connections, fire sprinklers, sprinkler piping and upgrades to the fire alarm<br />
systems; and accessibility improvements include new sloped walkways, accessible restrooms,<br />
drinking fountains and eyewash/showers.<br />
