Clearway <strong>Energy</strong> Group signs over<br />

1,400 MW <strong>in</strong> w<strong>in</strong>d turb<strong>in</strong>e agreements<br />

<strong>in</strong> the past n<strong>in</strong>e months<br />

Clearway <strong>Energy</strong> Group<br />

(“Clearway”) has signed<br />

agreements for Siemens Gamesa<br />

<strong>Renewable</strong> <strong>Energy</strong> (“Siemens<br />

Gamesa”) to supply Clearway<br />

over 1,400 MW. Siemens Gamesa<br />

is provid<strong>in</strong>g vary<strong>in</strong>g w<strong>in</strong>d turb<strong>in</strong>e<br />

types to both build new projects<br />

and to repower exist<strong>in</strong>g projects<br />

<strong>in</strong> Oklahoma, Texas, Wash<strong>in</strong>gton,<br />

and West Virg<strong>in</strong>ia.<br />

This week Clearway also<br />

announced the f<strong>in</strong>ancial close of<br />

repower<strong>in</strong>g both the Wildorado<br />

and Elbow Creek W<strong>in</strong>d Farms<br />

<strong>in</strong> Texas with Siemens Gamesa,<br />

which total 283 MW.<br />

Wildorado and Elbow Creek were<br />

both signed <strong>in</strong> September 2018.<br />

“We are excited to cont<strong>in</strong>ue our<br />

partnership with Clearway on<br />

these projects, which are a<br />

testament to a solid collaboration<br />

between both companies <strong>in</strong> the<br />

last year,” said José Antonio<br />

Miranda, CEO of Onshore<br />

Americas at Siemens Gamesa<br />

<strong>Renewable</strong> <strong>Energy</strong>. “The<br />

repower<strong>in</strong>g of the Wildorado and<br />

Elbow Creek projects is a major<br />

step <strong>in</strong> an excit<strong>in</strong>g relationship<br />

with Clearway and a<br />

demonstration of confidence <strong>in</strong><br />

Siemens Gamesa.”<br />

sign<strong>in</strong>g agreements for over 1.4<br />

GW of new construction and<br />

repower<strong>in</strong>g w<strong>in</strong>d projects with<br />

Siemens Gamesa,” said Craig<br />

Cornelius, CEO of Clearway<br />

<strong>Energy</strong> Group. “In addition to<br />

gett<strong>in</strong>g started on these first<br />

repower<strong>in</strong>g projects, we’re<br />

look<strong>in</strong>g forward to advanc<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

balance of the projects planned<br />

under these agreements and<br />

see<strong>in</strong>g them through to<br />

completion over the com<strong>in</strong>g<br />

years.”<br />

Additional projects be<strong>in</strong>g<br />

developed by Clearway <strong>Energy</strong><br />

Group <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> the turb<strong>in</strong>e<br />

arrangements feature the<br />

previously sold Mesquite Star<br />

project, currently under<br />

construction <strong>in</strong> Texas, and the<br />

proposed Rattlesnake Flat project<br />

<strong>in</strong> Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, along with<br />

projects yet to be announced.<br />
