Ropeway technology
for the entire world
Components for a wide range of ropeway systems are manufactured
at the Hohe Brücke plant. Precision and top quality standards at
Doppelmayr’s biggest production facility are key to satisfied customers.
The Hohe Brücke plant in Wolfurt, the home
base for the family-run business, has been
operating at its current location since 2002
and is the Doppelmayr Group’s biggest production
facility. The entire site covers an area of over
12 hectares. A wide variety of steel parts are
made here, such as bullwheels, support structures
or parts for sheave assemblies and grips.
In some cases, the components are manufactured
manually; in others, using cutting-edge robots
and machine tools.
The plant’s 350-strong workforce processes
between 22,000 and 25,000 tons of steel on an
annual basis. The production methods used include
plasma and flame cutting, MAG welding
and stress-free annealing as well as machining
methods such as boring, turning and milling. “We
work in shifts as well as normal working hours,
while our factory loading is now high over the entire
year,” says production manager Karl-Heinz Zündel.
