MEADS NOW HAS ITS OWN<br />
PHARMACIST<br />
Meads now has a pharmacist, Ross,<br />
who will monitor and advise patients<br />
on their medication, for example when<br />
discharged from hospital.<br />
CHANGES TO GP SERVICES<br />
Meads PPC understand that GP services<br />
will soon be grouped under a Primary<br />
Care Network, our local one being The<br />
Greater Wealden PCN.<br />
This will cover six practices – Meads,<br />
Buxted, Bird in Eye, Heathfield, Newick<br />
and Herstmonceux. Each practice will<br />
run independently as before, but will<br />
share some services, such as extended<br />
hours, overseen by the PCN.<br />
TESCO BLUE TOKEN SCHEME<br />
RAISES £1,100 FOR MEADS<br />
Meads PPC raised an outstanding £1,100<br />
through the Tesco blue token scheme<br />
– the money will help the Practice to<br />
purchase a new Spirometer.<br />

GIVES A FRESH NEW LOOK<br />
It's been four years since Barracloughs<br />
arrived in <strong>Uckfield</strong>, and they've loved<br />
every minute! But now the store is<br />
getting a fresh look, so Barracloughs<br />
will be closed throughout <strong>July</strong> whilst<br />
extensive work takes place to create a<br />
brighter and better store.<br />
CHANGES AT KAMSONS HIGH<br />
STREET STORE<br />
From the 1st of <strong>July</strong> Kamson’s pharmacy<br />
in <strong>Uckfield</strong> High Street is no longer a<br />
registered pharmacy and will be known<br />
as Kamsons health and beauty.<br />
You will still be able to collect your<br />
prescriptions from this store after<br />
they have been dispensed at Kamsons<br />
Pharmacy Bell Farm Road however<br />
medical advice can not be provided and<br />
pharmacy only medicines can not be<br />
sold. Opening times are also due to be<br />
changed to Monday - Friday 9am-5pm<br />
and Saturday 9.30am-2pm.<br />

WORLD ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS<br />
DAY<br />
June saw World Elder Abuse Awareness<br />
day take place, Sussex police would like<br />
to remind older people, their families<br />
and carers, that it is important to stay on<br />
the alert for attempts to defraud them<br />
- whether through couriers, doorstep<br />
callers, computers and telephones,<br />
investment offers, on dating sites, by<br />
someone close to them or through bogus<br />
inheritance claims.<br />
It can occur anywhere - at home, in<br />
