District 9 (Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties) continues to move forward to increase our<br />
membership, provide support and educational opportunities to all our members, to be active in our<br />
communities and supportive of MNA’s Mission and Goals.<br />
<strong>Convention</strong> 2018 - District 9 supported the event by providing two door prizes for the Raffle<br />
Drawings and participated in the <strong>Convention</strong>. Joe Luskus helped the Nursing Foundation with sales<br />
of Raffle tickets.<br />
<strong>2019</strong> EVENTS:<br />
February: <strong>Nurses</strong> Night in Annapolis:<br />
DNA 9 members joined the MNA nursing forces for the very successful <strong>Nurses</strong> Night with the<br />
Legislators. Always a highlight.<br />
May <strong>Annual</strong> Awards/ Scholarship Dinner: May 6, <strong>2019</strong><br />
1. Promote, support and encourage the advancement of Nursing by providing two nursing<br />
scholarships. $1,000 for Basic Nursing Program and $1,000 for Advanced Practice. They are<br />
presented at this dinner.<br />
2. Promote Professional Organization membership by providing a MNA/DNA one year<br />
Membership to the Graduating Student of the Year.<br />
3. Promote and provide professional development for nurses with the CEU presentation.<br />
