Since the last edition we have been busy with theScottish Horse of the Year Show and the English HomePony along with the regular shows here in Scotland.Amy had a very successful weekend to finish off hertime in 138cm Ponies with a win at Muirmill on theSaturday and then she won the Scottish Horse of theYear Show 138 Championship on Forest Brambles justbefore Brambles headed south to her new home.Megan had very good placings on both Norbet and RSCapello who is now back in work again and cominga very creditable 4th in the leading show jumper atSHOYsWe then headed south to the English Home Pony atSouthview Cheshire where both girls were picked torepresent Scotland again on the 148cm team. Theteam rode superly and managed to pick up the Bronzemedal! Amy had a very successful show on TobarKing (Charlie) coming second on the first day in thequalifier and then winning the class the next day.Sadly the final jump off was not best suited to Charliewho loves tight turns but this had more long runs soshe finished just outside the placings. She also hadher young home produced pony, RSCassini (Cass)down with her and he jumped a lovely dc the first dayso that’s him now qualified for the newcomer secondrounds to try and qualify for HOYS next year. He wenton to win the class on both of the next two days in arow in classes of over 60 starters .Then it was back to our local venue, Ian Stark’s, whereMegan had her new ride, Jumping Toby, out for thefirst time and they won both the 90cm and the 1mclasses! Sister, Amy, took 2nd in the 1m on Cass andthen Megan, jumping on her new horse took 2nd inthe 110m class.We now have the Scottish Branch Trophy Showcoming up then we’ll have a quieter few weeks untilAmy starts the winter premier shows and Megan willmove full time into horses as she is off ponies at theend of this year.
