Lauderdale Library
TENNIS CLUB
Winter nights are here so it’s a good time to settle
down at the fireside with a good book so do pop down
to the Library and browse our extensive collections
for both adults and children.
To get you in the reading mood we will be having
an Advent Countdown to Christmas in December
on Facebook. Look out for a different featured book
every day!
The Library was very glad to recieve a number of books
and papers relating to Lauderdale from local resident,
Andrew Mercer, recently. These have been added to
our archive and are available to everyone for reference.
There are still some of the 1913 Lauder booklets and
1832 Lauder maps available, both cost only £3 and
would make good stocking-fillers. They are available
from the Library, the Post Office, the Spotty Dog and
the Purple Plum.
The last Library session before Christmas will be
Saturday 21st December, and we will re-open on
Saturday 4th January.
Our usual opening times are -
Tuesdays 2-4pm: Thursdays 5-7pm
Saturdays 10am - noon
The nets are now down for winter but we have put up an
oldish net on one court for any brave souls to enjoy a knockup
on a crisp day?
The Club has enjoyed a quiet season with some Club nights
being missed because of poor weather – likewise the Sunday
tournaments didn’t happen every month. Our annual
AGM will take place in January – watch our FaceBook page
for date/time.
The landscaping and clearing phase one is now complete
and the Club is again, so grateful for the fantastic efforts of
John Heatlie and his Criminal Justice Team and help with
the maintenance of the clubhouse. We wish a very merry
Christmas and great New Year to all the Lauder Tennis
players from all on the committee and look forward to
seeing you and new members on court in 2020.

Q:Why couldn’t the turkey eat his Christmas
dinner?
A: Because he was stuffed!
