There are four different colourways for Fly Racing’s<br />
FR-5 boots (270 dollars) and for what is a very<br />
functional and affordable set of off-road footwear.<br />
Small details include additions such as the 3D<br />
moulded shift panel with extra grooves and texture<br />
to fight against premature wear. TPU medial and<br />
lateral elements of the construction, soft interior<br />
foam around the ankle and the ‘collar’ of the boot,<br />
TPR calf plate and textile lining.<br />
The FR-5 is CE tested and approved for impact<br />
resistance and has a one-piece plastic injected<br />
midsole. Biomechanical pivots provide increased<br />
ankle stability and the heat shield is made from<br />
rubber. The four quick locking aluminium buckles<br />
are solid and secure. In terms of styling the boot<br />
looks narrow, supple and modern, helped by the<br />
low toe profile. For the price and the list of specs<br />
the FR-5 is a very worthy option for those partial<br />
to the dirt.
