ABT appoints
Student Ambassador
ABT has appointed Martin Widdicombe as ABT
Student Ambassador for the UK and Ireland.
Martin re-joins ABT in the role after a period of
semi-retirement.
As ABT Student Ambassador, Martin will be
coordinating ABT’s engagement with colleges
and training providers across the UK and Ireland.
This will include facilitating student presentations
and communicating the benefits of ABT’s
Student Membership to students studying for
qualifications in beauty, nails, complementary
therapies, hair and barbering, as well as college
lecturers and industry educators.
Commenting on his appointment as ABT
Student Ambassador, Martin Widdicombe says:
“I am delighted to be re-joining ABT as Student
Ambassador, a role I started initially in 2009.
Working with our future generation of beauty
and hair professionals is immensely rewarding,
and having the opportunity to visit colleges and
meet students in person enables ABT to tailor
our Student Membership to meet their needs as
well as offer guidance and support as they look
to forge successful careers.”
Dave Horton, ABT Director, adds:
“We’re very happy to have Martin back in
the role of ABT Student Ambassador, a role
he excelled in previously. Despite his time in
semi-retirement, Martin still has a wealth of
knowledge to pass onto the students he meets
during his college visits, and we look forward
to him reconnecting with college lecturers and
introducing himself to new beauty and hair
schools across the UK and Ireland.”
ABT Student Membership is available to
all beauty, nails, complementary therapy
and hairdressing students and includes a
comprehensive insurance package through
Catlin Insurance (UK) Ltd which includes up
to €6.5 million Professional Treatment Risks
insurance, €6.5 million Public Liability insurance
and €6.5 million Product Liability insurance for
students’ Case Study work or for other work
prior to qualification.
