Third, investing in your passion easily quenches your
thirst for money. When you’re living your passion, you
will realise that being financially stable is not your
priority, because you’re happy and content even if
you’re doing your daily work. Your job becomes a walk
in the park, obstacles are easily solved, since there
are no hindrances that will destroy your positivity and
made up mind. People who are unhappy with their
career path usually regret everything in the end. You
only live once, so don’t waste your time doing things
you don’t like or doing something just because of
financial gain; trust me, you will regret it.
A popular reggae artist, said in a hit song, “raise to
the occasion, look at yourself and say you are strong;
no one can stop you. It is for you to do the best thing
in your life, know that you got the chance.” This artist
is giving us a message that the best thing for us is
within our lives, but we need to choose to achieve it.
Investing in your passion needs to be your core value.
Don’t let other people influence you in a negative
way. You must seek advice, but you need to assess
if it will be helpful for you or not. Creating a positive
mindset gives you great results. It really depends on
you to get up and live your passion.
Finally, remember to dream big, but do not stay
asleep. Wake up and stand up to make your dream
and passion your reality. Never take no for an answer;
if a door closes, that means another chance has
opened. Get up and be strong; appreciate your flaws,
take them as pieces of chance. Embrace change and
never take them as a hindrance. Be a forward thinker
and be proactive so that you will expect what will go
wrong . Learn to mix your passion for life and work.
Always remember that when investing in your passion,
it is always a long process and journey, but in the end,
your happiness and contentment in life are secured.

Jerome Douglas is a 27-year old trained teacher, poet and writer from the
beautiful island of Jamaica. His personal philosophy is “If it is for me to
be, then it is up to me.” He attended the Catholic College of Mandeville
