Worship Issue (May/June 2020)
Oh Beloved One | May/June 2020 | Vol. 9, Issue 3 Worship is more than a pew. Especially in light of the current pandemic, we’re realizing that the church isn’t a building. It’s a body of believers doing life to the glory of God. But what does that look like for young women? How can I cultivate a life of mindful worship? That’s what this issue is all about. This year, we’re taking a look at the ELEMENTS of our faith. Every year we choose a theme, and this year we’re really focusing in on what makes up the practical parts of our faith. We’ll be looking at devotions, prayer, worship, serving, witnessing, and edifying. This is our issue focused on worship. Lifestyle
Even as a thirteen-year-old, life is very crazy.
And I know that a lot of people think that
they can’t have a life of worship because they
don’t have time to worship or pray or read
the Bible.
But how much time do we spend scrolling
through Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat?
And also, we can praise and worship God
just by living. You don’t have to spend
an hour every day reading the Bible and
praying.
You can worship God for His goodness while
you’re brushing your teeth or making your
coffee. Or maybe you can thank God that
He had someone come up with the idea for
Starbucks. Start looking for the small things
in life that you miss and thank God for His
goodness in providing it for you.
Look for the blessings that He sends you.
Like that one day when you were in tears,
depressed, stressed, and alone, and then
someone sent you a text or called you and
told you that they were praying for you
and that they loved you. Or maybe you’re
driving to work and feeling really down.
Turn on some Christian music and sing.
Give God all the hope and love and joy that
you have and it’ll take away at least some
of the dreariness in the day. Let your life be
full of Christ.

and thank God for
His goodness in
providing it for you.
