Worship Issue (May/June 2020)
Oh Beloved One | May/June 2020 | Vol. 9, Issue 3 Worship is more than a pew. Especially in light of the current pandemic, we’re realizing that the church isn’t a building. It’s a body of believers doing life to the glory of God. But what does that look like for young women? How can I cultivate a life of mindful worship? That’s what this issue is all about. This year, we’re taking a look at the ELEMENTS of our faith. Every year we choose a theme, and this year we’re really focusing in on what makes up the practical parts of our faith. We’ll be looking at devotions, prayer, worship, serving, witnessing, and edifying. This is our issue focused on worship. MAY/JUNE 2020 OHBELOVEDONE.COM STRONGER THAN THE DIVIDE
I find myself so easily slipping into a
judging attitude towards the church
because of what it’s become in
modern America. Today, 75% of our
generation who grew up in Christian
homes are abandoning their faith.
They say that churches are more
concerned about fellowship and
drawing people in for attendance
numbers than the things that really
matter.
It’s become a place where we reject
those different than us, where we’ve
forgotten to love, to hold another
accountable and forgive when we
fail. We’ve forgotten that the church
is a place of broken Jesus followers,
and that alone should bring us
together.
We are united because we are saved
by the love of Jesus Christ and
because we choose to follow Him
no matter the cost. I know how easy
it is to fall into the "pretty-face"
picture, to leave your junk at home
and forget that it belongs in church.
However, the church is supposed to
be a place where you grow together
