Worship Issue (May/June 2020)

Oh Beloved One | May/June 2020 | Vol. 9, Issue 3 Worship is more than a pew. Especially in light of the current pandemic, we’re realizing that the church isn’t a building. It’s a body of believers doing life to the glory of God. But what does that look like for young women? How can I cultivate a life of mindful worship? That’s what this issue is all about. This year, we’re taking a look at the ELEMENTS of our faith. Every year we choose a theme, and this year we’re really focusing in on what makes up the practical parts of our faith. We’ll be looking at devotions, prayer, worship, serving, witnessing, and edifying. This is our issue focused on worship. “Here I am to worship / Here I am to bow

down MAY/JUNE / Here 2020 I am to OHBELOVEDONE.COM say that You’re HERE I AM my TO WORSHIP God /

You’re altogether lovely / Altogether worthy /

Altogether wonderful to me.”

I am to worship

/ Here I am to bow

"Here

down / Here I am to

say that You’re my God / You’re

altogether lovely / Altogether

worthy / Altogether wonderful to

me.”

Almost all of us have heard these

words. Hillsong’s hit “Here I Am

to Worship” is definitely one of

the more popular and played

worship songs out there. And

while I don’t have a problem with

this song necessarily, I think that

often its lyrics are thrown around

with lack of thought to their

meaning.

Let me first ask you when (or

even how often) do you tell God,

“Here I am to worship.” I’ll be

honest, I rarely even think that

phrase, much less “say” it or utter

it under my breath. Worship is

more than just going to church

and spending a couple hours

listening to a sermon and singing

a couple songs. It is about

everyday life, about being there

for God in everything. Here are a

few ways that you can do that.
