during COVID-19.
Well known for our comprehensive maternal health services, Saint Peter’s has established practices and procedures
that are often a model of care — and dealing with COVID-19 is no exception. We were one of the first hospitals
to commit to ensuring at least one support person could remain in the delivery room while still maintaining our
protocols that ensure the health of mother and child.
We’ve put additional measures in place since the outbreak, from screening expectant mothers for COVID-19 to
isolating confirmed or suspected cases to assigning multidisciplinary care teams to treat mothers and newborns.
