EUROPE Trade Copiers, Queens Awards, Business<br />
Trade Copiers win Queens Award<br />
<strong>The</strong> company has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise.<br />
Founded by Stephen Armistead in<br />
2002, Trade Copiers is a trader in<br />
photocopiers and consumables. Based<br />
in Penrith, Cumbria, on the edge of the<br />
Lake District in the UK, the company<br />
has grown to become a local business<br />
with a worldwide reach.<br />
From its early beginnings, the company<br />
has seen the business grow steadily.<br />
From a single van and 100 square feet<br />
of rented warehouse space, with a move<br />
to new premises in 2014, it now has a<br />
fleet of vehicles, a team of over 44 staff<br />
and a 25,000 square foot (and growing)<br />
warehouse.<br />
With a successful business working<br />
with dealers and the general public in the<br />
UK in both the consumable and copier<br />
markets, it also has a thriving market<br />
sending containers of used copiers around<br />
the world, to places such as China, UAE,<br />
Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and<br />
Africa.<br />
In Cumbria reported that Trade Copiers<br />
“has been given the Queen's Award for<br />
Enterprise in recognition of its short term<br />
growth in international trade.”<br />
Stephen Armistead told In Cumbria: “We<br />
are absolutely delighted at the recognition.<br />
We feel immensely proud to be recognised<br />
as one of our area's top export companies<br />
and have a great local Cumbrian team."<br />
At this time, due to COVID-19<br />
restrictions the team has been furloughed<br />
but Amistead told In Cumbria he continues<br />
to stay positive throughout this time. ■<br />
