ZOOM MEETINGS AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
WWW.GLOBALSOCIETYFORFEMALEENTREPRENEURS.ORG
Well May, June and July have been challenging for everyone, but being what great
and dynamic women each of you are you have found different paths to keep
moving forward. When things opened our members who had small business were
looking forward to starting to get back to work and boom another shutdown. But
we are women of strength and we will get thru all of this.
It's been a few months of learning for all of us, many had never heard of Zoom, I
was one of those and at first i had a fear I would mess it all up but decided if I did
not at least step out of my comfort zone and learn and try I could not ask others to
SHOW UP and run their meetings. Those that had more knowledge taught the rest
of us, we learned much from AnGele Cade who is really a pro, and now Angeline
Benjamin and others are also becoming a pro and sharing new things they learned
with others as they know that Together we can do more.
Many of our members saw a need and jumped in making masks and finding
resources for infrared thermometers , Gloves and other kinds of masks. They were
Gigi and Marcy from Creative Solutions Marketing,
Also Dr Cherilyn Lee produced some great Breath Easy and safe masks and Terry
Lea Hoard the Victorville director makes beautiful masks and even makes glitzy
masks. Women have a way of looking at what else they can do and stepping out
and doing it.
Yet I was still a little disappointed from the support from our members that many
were not SHOWING UP on zoom, and I can tell you they are losing out as even if
they did not know how we would have taught them. Also I was also sad that more
did not SHOW UP for the Facebook on Live training that Angeline Benjamin
coordinated with her member Caprice Crebar who is an expert, and it was FREE to
GSFE members. Those that showed up on line loved it as Caprice was wonderful
and shared lots of great information that was easy to understand. Angeline kept
sending it out to all the members but the turnout was good but could have been
better. Also many told us one of the reason they did not do zoom as they did not
like the way they looked online, so we asked Beauty Expert Sandie Fuenty director
of Lake Elsinore/Murrieta/Wildomar to share some tips of easy solutions to look
great again everyone thought it was a great idea but only a few SHOWED UP and it
also was FREE for GSFE members.
The interesting part as these events took place when people could not really go
anywhere and so would have been easy for them to do.
Commitment the dictionary says this word means The state or quality of being
dedicated to a cause, activity etc. So to me if you join a chamber, networking group,
business group or any group one must have some commitment to that organization
as you expect any organization to be there for you, so just remember its really a
two way street. Just as you count on the organization you belong to, they count on
you SHOWING UP, paying your dues and being a part of their organization.
GSFE constantly spends hours looking for opportunities for our members, and
being there when a member calls and asks for help or for a collaboration. We
constantly also look for ways to help you get noticed. We miss you when we don't
see your beautiful face and hear about what you are doing as we are a sisterhood
that cares about YOU and what you need and we want to be there for YOU but we
also would like you to be there for US....I don't think that is too much to
ask...anyway I hope that we will see you soon as I miss each and everyone of you,
your in my heart and very special to me and others.
Also each month when we send out this newsletter we also send a master list of all
members and add new members. We also delete members who have not paid their
dues in two months, they then are no longer members and if attending a meeting have
to pay the guest meeting fee until they rejoin.
Like any business we have things we need to pay for so we love it when our members
make the commitment to pay their renewal fees. Anyway below is a different link that
you can pay your renewal dues on line. Also we love it when you give us changes in
your information so we can update it. We also add new members to the individual
groups as they join each month. The idea behind having this master list is for our
members to get to know each other more and to see who they might collaborate with
no matter what network they are in. So take the time and call a member you have not
met once a month and expand the people you know, see how you can help them and
share how they can help you. Remember it is all about building relationships not just
walking in and handing your business card to them and expecting them to buy from
you immediately, listen who they are and build that relationships, find out who they
know as it will surprise you on just what can happen if you take the time.
payment link:
New members can also join on line on our website
www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org
Carl Wilson who we have built a collaboration with had to make several changes on his
dates for the oncoming all women rock events. See calendar of events.
The San Diego Connected Women of Influence event that was to take place March 19th
was moved to August 5th now it’s Nov 4th. The finalist in various catagories are Nicole
Douglas, Oceanside GSFE, Kisa Puckett Temecula GSFE, Shelly Rufin, Temecula, Lori
Raupe, Hemet GSFE, Rhonda Sher, Temecula GSFE and Global Society for Female
Entrepreneurs
The Orange County date was moved to October 15th and our GSFE Finalists are Valarie
Green the restaurant owner where our SOC network meets, LuAnn Mitchell, West
Hollywood GSFE, AnGEle Cade, San Fernando Valley, Lauren Powers, SOC, and
Yolanda Smith Riverside GSFE. So we will have to wait and see if Michelle Bergquist the
founder and CEO of Connected Women of Influence is able to hold those dates with the
pandemic or will she have to move them again. Michelle is also a member of GSFE.
The "She Inspires Me" Awards that Ada is doing we have 13 nominees, 14 with me and
of that so far 8 are going to Florida plus Carl Wilson will also be going as he was
nominated by Ada as an Ambassador.
The 13 winners are below that I nominated and those with an x by their name are going
to the VIP Red Carpet event in Miami, and maybe some of the others will also be going,
waiting to hear. Those winners are:
X Kimberly Anderson Murrieta GSFE, x AnGele Cade, San Fernando GSFE, X Angeline
Benjamin SOC GSFE, Barbara Berg, Temecula GSFE, X Chebra Dorsey "Ochea"
Oceanside GSFE, X Virginia Earl, Murrieta , GSFE, Gillian Larson, Temecula GSFE,
Dame Shellie Hunt, SOC GSFE, Florence LaRue (former gsfe member and lead singer
with the fifth dimension) LuAnn Mitchell, West Hollywood GSFE, X Dr Cherilyn Lee,
West Hollywood GSFE, X Shelly Rufin, Temecula GSFE, Dr Sharron Stroud, GSFE
member at large. Those are the 13 I nominated and Carl Wilson nominated me and that
is how I heard about the event and then I asked if I could nominate some women.
LuAnn Mitchell is the person who introduced Carl to Ada as they are old friends. Ada
lives in London, England,
Also the LA Women's awards are coming in 2020 and I nominated 5 women so waiting
to see who might of gotten in, they have not mentioned the finalists yet because they
had to move the dates, so maybe by next months newsletter we will have that
information.
In 2020, I personally wrote over 200 awards again that is not something I have to do, but
took the time so that my members could get honored.
GSFE also wants to offer more Zoom training classes so let Angeline Benjamin know of
topics you have an interest in and then we can see what we can do to put that together.
She can be reached at albenjamin.bb27@gmail.com Our networks have lots of experts
and we want to tap into their expertise.
Watch the August network flyers to see what networks might be able to start back live.
Menifee and Long Beach so far I know will be live in August and we are checking out
others.
When we all go back live we will still do several Zoom meetings a month so that those
that are not ready for live can still jump on a zoom meeting plus people in other parts of
the country can join us. Congratulations to AnGele Cade for her three new members,
one out of state, and to Tammra Graves for her one new member and also Temecula
which I run has a new member. So share membership with GSFE with your friends and
associates at $50.00 a year we are a bargain.
AnGele Cade the Director of San Fernando is also going to expand and try and recruit
members in Pasadena and Glendale area and then set up a zoom meeting there,so if
you know people in those areas let AnGele know, Acade@execonthego.com. With the
zoom meetings we can have members from anywhere in the world join us. We recently
had someone from Bermuda online.
A big thank you to Virginia Earl who did an amazing job of editing Carl Wilson's first
book of "All Women Rock" of which there are 11 co-authors in the book, all GSFE
members. Also a big thank you to the 44 GSFE members who stepped forward and
became co-authors for my book It's All About SHOWING UP an the POWER is in the
ASKING" which is being published by member Angela Covany's publishing company. I
asked 51 members and 44 responded and made the deadline. This book will be ready
for the October 17th conference, its been edited by one of our members sisters in
Canada who is an editor, and 5 of our members of all ages read each story, and said
how great each one was. It is now going into layout. The cover is beautiful and was
designed by Angela Covany, the book will be over 500 pages and the stories are
amazing.
Also congratulations to Angeline Benjamin who made a commitment to write her book
and have it done by October and she will make that deadline. Also to Joan Wakeland
who is finishing her book and it will soon be published. Angeline recorded her book
and Lori Raupe her coach translated it into copy. So even if you can't write you could
record your words. Lori Raupe who herself has written two books is working with Joan
and Angeline to get their books published. Remember everyone has a book in them,
they just need to make a commitment and step out and do it....
Also congratulation to Kimberly Anderson on the great retreat she has coming up,
honored to be one that is a part of it and her new television show which I was honored
to be a guest on and a book she has coming out from the interviews she did with all the
women who are part of the retreat. Also to LuAn Mitchell, President of Big Media USA
who has given several of us the opportunity to do a TV Show globally on Big Media
USA. Congratulations LuAn Mitchell on her new book Paper Doll.
As I said there is lots of talent in our networks you just have to tell us what you need
and we can match you with what you are looking for.
So you can see GSFE has been hard at work for you, and all we ask in return is that you
make a commitment to SHOW UP at meetings and support our events and let us know
how we can help you.
Each of you are amazing and I am honored to know you and have you a part of GSFE.
Together we will come out of this Pandemic and survive and soar...
I am always there for you!
Our next GSFE Meeting for Lake Elsinore/Murrieta/Wildomar will be held via ZOOM on Thursday, July 23,
2020.
ong Beach has not been doing any zoom or regular meetings we have asked our members to
in in onto other zoom meetings as this group is still small to do their own zoom meeting.
ut he members have stayed busy. My co-director is in the catering business so has been
nable to work but her two boys are home so she has been helping with home schooling.
enise Thomson has been busy with her zoom on line health teachings and helping lots of
eople,
nd our other few members have been staying in and staying healthy.
E missed seeing them on other zoom network calls and perhaps in June they will jump in on a
all.
e look forward to seeing them at our conference and on other network zoom calls in June.
lso would love to have them call me to be guests on my radio show Diva strategies for Success
am booking late June dates now.
tay Healthy, wear your masks and be safe.
Menifee GSFE Network News
The July 8th meeting was really dynamic as our guest speaker was Debbie Love, Her
topic "Women's Safety, Are you as safe as you need to be" even though it was on
Zoom we all learned a lot about keeping safe. It was amazing to hear how powerful
our elbows could be and she showed as 8 steps on just how to use them if in a tight
spot. Lots of great information was shared. Those on the call were glad they
SHOWED UP as they learned a lot.
Our June speaker was suppose to be Stephanie Blue but there was a mix up so we
talked about several table topics and those on line really seemed to enjoy the topic
and shared lots of information so it turned out to be a beautiful time for all that made
the commitment to be with us.
I still feel sad that more of our members just don't jump on zoom and join us they
have 11 different networks and 11 different times and numerous different days if they
cannot join their network to join another. Many have said they do not like zoom but
the way the world is going more and more things are going to be on zoom and they
are missing out, so they need to get out of their comfort zones and try it and they
just might find out its not so bad after all. Before the pandemic I had never done a
zoom call or even knew what it was about and I am 84 years old but I wanted to be
there for our members and to make sure GSFE continues to bring them the dynamic
speakers that we get so not only did I learn but our directors learned as well and
many of our members learned and the more they did it they learned it was pretty
great.
It was great to see Virginia Earl Lake Elsinor GSFE member and Felicia Harris new
Temecula GSFE member on the call.
Menifee's August speaker will be Marcy Decato Topic "Discover Your Confidence - Find
the Right Words"
So make the commitment today mark August 12th 11:30 am on your calendar and I hope
to see you at the meeting. I will be giving out our new GSFE pins to those that SHOW UP.
Remember what I always say SHOWING UP is like a treasure map you never know what
Treasure you will find.

The Oceanside GSFE Chapter will be meeting at Broiler in Oceanside Harbor on Monday
August 10th, at 10:00 AM for a Social Get Together!
This will be an informal gathering on the patio. The restaurant will open early to
accommodate our group. They will open the bar and food service will be available at 11:00
AM.
Since this will be a causal meeting the regular monthly fee will not be required.
Our very own Debbie Love will be our speaker.
Debbie Love is the Founder of Heads Up Self-Defense for Women. She is a 4th Degree
Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Karate and an advocate for women’s safety.
After the rape and murder of her cousin in 1988, Love began a quest to learn self-defense but
nothing stuck. She knew there had to be a better way, so she enrolled in martial arts to learn
from the ground up. That was almost 20 years ago. Now Love is on a mission to educate
women that self-defense is not about being strong, it’s about being smart and making it home
safely!
Before devoting her life full time to empowering women, Debbie spent 40 years as a
paralegal in Alabama, Georgia, New York and California.
Riverside GSFE Chapter would like to give a shoutout to Elaine Waldon for taking the
Temecula GSFE News
Well we thought that in July we could meet live at Texas Lil's but that did not work out,
as they were remodeling.
Our June Speaker Leah Zimmerman who is also a member of the Riverside GSFE was
great and she is quite the expert on Zoom, we always learn new things from her about
Zoom and also about the topic she talks about, and she has many topics she shares.
Our July speaker was Debbie Love the Co-Director of Oceanside who is also a Women's
Safety expert. We had a nice turnout but unfortunately only one was from Temecula
GSFE, thank you Marcy Decato for your continued support, the others on the call came
from other networks.
Our August 4th speaker w be Daniela Bumann her topic will be "Mindful Performance
Habits For High Achievers & Busy People Wanting To Reclaim Their Life/Time. So if you
are committed to GSFE please put that date on your calendar and SHOW UP in person if
we can meet live or on line if we have to do zoom again.
Sending lots of prayers to Temecula GSFE members Kisa Puckett who lost her husband
Barbara Berg after many many years has set up her own private practice and has been
busy moving her office and getting her new office set up, she was in practice with others
for over 25 plus years. Like she said change is good but cleaning up an office you had
for 25 years to move to a new location is quite a challenge, but she did it and her new
office looks terrific.
I miss seeing each and everyone of you and hope that you will make an effort to be with
us in August as the speaker is terrific and it will be great to see your beautiful face and to
beyond regular meetings.
STAYING TUNED IN WITH ZOOM
West LA GSFE
Good Day members ! Several of our GSFE members & I discussed , how can we collaborate to get more out of
our networking. Unfortunately , many don’t ask for what they need from us & we need to emphasize on this
for every meeting.
Some ladies feel it’s not reciprocated by other members. >et’s not forget besides the social factor involved
here, it wouldn’t hurt to tap more on the biz side to help each other out.
Word of mouth is a powerful tool. Let’s use that to share what other GSFE woman do to others that may
benefit from the service offered.
We did.
Maybe ask a few questions to get to know your other members
tter.
Please feel free to share any ideas.
Don’t hesitate to phone your director.
