LICHFIELD BUSINESSES HAVE JOINED FORCES TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER LOCKDOWN AND
ENCOURAGE VISITORS TO THE CATHEDRAL CITY, THANKS TO THE NEW VISIT LICHFIELD CARD
The national Eat Out to Help Out scheme may have
ended but Lichfield has introduced its own campaign
to encourage people to support businesses in the
cathedral city.
A new Visit Lichfield Card will give shoppers, diners
and overnight visitors access to discounts and special
offers at a whole string of venues in the coming
months - and the card is completely free of charge.
Lichfield District Council has joined forces with
attractions and businesses to offer everything from
percentage discounts to a slice of cake and a hot
drink for just £3.50.
Councillor Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s
cabinet member for tourism, said: “The special offers
and discounts are a wonderful way for our district
attractions, shops, restaurants and accommodation
to give something back to their loyal visitors and
customers.
“I hope people will visit their local shops, restaurants
and attractions and help them in turn recover from
the Covid lockdown.
“We’re hoping even more district businesses will take
part by sending us their exclusive special offers.
“In return we’ll help raise their profile on our Visit
Lichfield website, through our social media channels
and regular email newsletters.”
You can apply for a Visit Lichfield Card free of
charge on the Visit Lichfield website, where you can
also find out about the offers and discounts available.
Cards can also be collected in person from Lichfield’s
Visitor Information Centre in St Mary’s on the
Market Square.
All businesses taking part will have stickers in their
window so that passers-by know they are taking part.
Card holders will simply need to show their card to
receive the offer or discount.
Businesses of all types across Lichfield are being
invited to join the scheme and hopefully benefit from
increased trade.
