VINZ is excited to announce the
opening of the new state-of-the-art Testing
Station in Rolleston.
As CEO of VINZ Sean Stevens says,
“The opening couldn’t have happened at a
better time with the expansion of the new
Christchurch Southern Motorway scheme,
which is set to be completed in 2021.”
The roadworks will improve access to
the Izone in Rolleston by extending 7.5km
of road in built-up areas from Hornby and
Templeton to Robinsons Road.
“Izone is already attracting a range
of organisations to the area, including
automotive businesses, restaurants, and
cafes as well as being one of the fastestgrowing
residential growth towns,” Sean
says.
The new facility will be the “flagship
of the south”, which gives VINZ the
flexibility to service both residential and
business customers in the local area, he
says.
Sean says he would like to thank
everyone involved, who has worked hard
to bring this project to launch during
these “unprecedented times”.
“We look forward to a very successful
start.”
The new Testing Station features two
dedicated inspection pits for heavy vehicle
and COFB customers as well as a separate
lane for WOF and light vehicle compliance
inspections.
The Station supports WOF inspections
for light vehicle, motorcycles and trailers,
as well as transactional services such as
registration and RUC. It also has specific
lanes for heavy vehicles for COF Trucks,
COF rental and entry inspections on both
light and heavy vehicles.
The dedicated heavy lane inspection
area allows VINZ to inspect a whole truck
and trailer with minimal movement of
the vehicle. All traffic, including trucks,
enters from Hynds Drive, is inspected,
then departs from Link Drive, providing
a seamless drive-through experience for
customers.
VINZ Rolleston is located at 47 Link
Drive and the new site offers the full range
of VINZ’s products and services, with a
focus on heavy-vehicle inspections and
certification and NZTA transactional
Services include:
• WOF
• COF, a regular inspection for passenger
service, rental and heavy goods vehicles
• Pre-purchase inspections, to give greater
confidence to buyers and seller of used
vehicles
• Heavy vehicle entry certification
• Hybrid and electric vehicle safety checks
• Administrative services, such as reregistrations
and vehicle licensing
• Motorcycle compliance
