We started the weekend off with Dressage, where she showed up like never before and had<br />

a beautiful test. We are still working through with relaxation and suppleness but she was<br />

obedient and responsive in all the right places. Sometimes I wish she would show up like for<br />

practice every now and then, but I'll take it when I can<br />

get it, LOL.<br />

XC was the biggest course we have seen yet, it took us<br />

out of comfort zones and pushed us to really ride. It<br />

also didn't help that the skies opened up right before<br />

our ride time and let down an unprecedented amount<br />

of rain making everything just a bit more squishy. In<br />

the warm-up, the hectic atmosphere was getting the<br />

better of us, but after some thoughtful regathering and<br />

some confidence-boosting jumps, we were on our way<br />

over the bridge to the start box. The course was maxed<br />

out for Beginner Novice and had some pretty complicated<br />

questions for a BN course. But we came through<br />

the finish flags clean and clear. Proud was an understatement.<br />

Prim saved my rear in a few instances and<br />

was in a beautiful rhythm as she took the course in<br />

stride.<br />

On Sunday in stadium jumping, we walked into an already large atmosphere, with butterflies<br />

in both of our stomachs. There were 10 horses in warm-up all trying to jump the same<br />

4 jumps, and poor Prim's little 6 y/o brain was having a hard time comprehending everything<br />

happening. Luckily for us, there were no spectators crowding the stands around the<br />
