This course is a great first step into the world of games design. Starting with the basics, you’ll work on a range of projects building skills in character design, sound editing, 3D modelling, digital art and animation. Our friendly, professional teaching team will support you throughout, helping you build your confidence and a games design portfolio. You’ll also choose a design specialism to create a personal project, gain work experience and work on external commissions. At the end of this course, you can progress to our Level 2 course. Games Design Level 2 Duration 1 year Entry requirements An appropriate vocational qualification at Level 1 or three GCSE grades at grade 3 or above, preferably including English and maths. What will I learn? Develop the skills needed to help you become a games designer. Learn about digital design, animation, game engines, sound editing, asset building and 3D modelling. In the final part of the course, you’ll focus on a personal project, going in-depth in developing your skills and ideas. Games Development Level 3 Duration 2 years Entry requirements Four GCSE grades at 4 or above including English. An art related subject and maths are also preferred but not essential. What will I learn? If you want to be part of the next generation of game developers, 3D modellers, concept artists, animators or all round gaming gurus, then level up your skill tree with our innovative games development course.
