A MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL DIRECTOR
Dear EA Community,
We miss our students!!
Escuela Americana is preparing/revising the plan for the return of its operational, administrative, and academic community
so that we can resume on January 12 th via Brightspace Learning and on campus on January 22, 2021; starting the rotation for
Plans A and D, subject to the provisions and recommendations of the Ministry of Education of El Salvador.
We want to reaffirm as always, our commitment to the well-being and safety of our students, but also, we want to express
the need to work together as a community to achieve the objectives outlined in this new modality of teaching and
coexistence.
When we open the Campus again, we will have special protocols that include new procedures of the utmost importance:
• Temperature measurements
• Sanitation of all physical spaces - Before, during and after school
• Use of masks - required at all times- no mask no entry onto campus
• Physical distancing - EA will mark the floors, seats and bathrooms to help students understand the distance required
• Cafeteria closed - No food service on campus
• Drinking fountains enabled only for refilling bottles
• Restrictions on movement and spaces for common use
• Sinks located in hallways and strategic locations throughout the campus for ample hand washing.
• Hand sanitizer will be available - and students should bring their own as well
• EA has accommodated and equipped another clinic that is accessible outside of the main gate to help any
student/adult who is feeling sick and may have been exposed to COVID-19
• EA has developed a new sick policy and flow charts for easy understanding (Page 32)
• EA has developed a contact tracing protocol that we will follow for all students and faculty/staff
• Common outdoor spaces will be used generously for class time and fresh air via window ventilation
• Students will not change for PE in the locker rooms - we will offer PE in a different format with no changing
• EA will not offer Athletics until we have mastered the protocols with all students and staff
