Adelaide is up on a pedestal when It comes to the diversity <strong>and</strong><br />

quality of restaurants, with the small bar scene now pushing out<br />

into the suburbs. The metropolitan coastal strip from Semaphore<br />

to Seacliff <strong>and</strong> beyond is a “must” in summer, while the Adelaide<br />

Hills, with its burgeoning reputation as a cool climate wine region,<br />

is worth a visit at any time of year. The Hills, along with the Fleurieu<br />

When you think of the Eyre <strong>and</strong> Yorke Peninsula's, think seafood!<br />

Port Lincoln is Australia's seafood capital <strong>and</strong> is home to<br />

Australia’s biggest commercial fishing fleet. Whether it’s fresh<br />

whiting, export quality tuna, abalone or freshly shucked Coffin Bay<br />

oysters, seafood aficionados will be in heaven!<br />

For lovers of great wine, the Barossa, Clare, McLaren Vale <strong>and</strong><br />

Coonawarra provide premium wine <strong>and</strong> a relaxing cellar door<br />

experience. The Limestone Coast is home to the Coonawarra,<br />

Wrattonbully, Mount Benson, Mount Gambier <strong>and</strong> Padthaway wine<br />

regions. There are more than 40 cellar doors to choose from<br />

including Coonawarra's hidden gem, Br<strong>and</strong>'s Laira, an iconic winery<br />

nestled in the famed 'terra rossa' strip of the Coonawarra region.<br />

They are well known for their high quality wines (see ad below).<br />

Many wineries also have wonderful restaurants in classic vineyard<br />

settings, perfect for a long, indulgent lunch. There’s no doubt that<br />

good food <strong>and</strong> wonderful wines can make a good holiday great, so<br />

enjoy the best South Australia has to offer.<br />

You can explore the many food markets which also have great<br />

dining experiences. In Adelaide you can’t go past Adelaide Central<br />

Market, as well as the Adelaide Farmers' Market (see separate story<br />

below), Plant 4 Bowden <strong>and</strong> the Market Shed On Holl<strong>and</strong>. For<br />

Australia’s best local produce further afield, try the Stirling Market,<br />

Willunga Farmers' Market, Goolwa Wharf Market, Stansbury<br />

Seaside Market, Sevenhill Producers' Market, Barossa Farmers'<br />

Market… the list is seemingly endless.<br />
