NATIONAL PARKS<br />

There is something for everyone to enjoy in one of over 350<br />

National Parks <strong>and</strong> Reserves in South Australia. To start your<br />

South Australian parks adventure, here are our favourites to<br />

add to your bucket list.<br />

Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park<br />

Known as Ikara to the Adnyamathanha people, this ancient <strong>and</strong><br />

rugged l<strong>and</strong>scape is one of South Australia’s most iconic<br />

destinations. Visit from April to October when the temperatures<br />

are cooler to make the most of the extensive bushwalking <strong>and</strong><br />

camping experiences.<br />

Innes National Park<br />

The rugged coast of Innes National Park offers plenty of white<br />

s<strong>and</strong>y coves nestled amongst cliffs to explore <strong>and</strong> is a paradise for<br />

beach-lovers during spring <strong>and</strong> summer. Anglers can fish for<br />

salmon from the shore at Browns Beach, or try for mullet, tommy<br />

ruffs, squid or even snook from Stenhouse Bay jetty.<br />

Belair National Park<br />

Set in beautiful natural bushl<strong>and</strong> Belair National Park is just 25<br />

minutes from the Adelaide city centre. It's SA’s oldest national park<br />

<strong>and</strong> has woodl<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> lakes to explore via walking <strong>and</strong> mountain<br />

biking trails. It is home to Old Government House, a significant<br />

heritage building whose gardens have undergone replanting <strong>and</strong><br />

restoration <strong>and</strong> have recently been re-opened to the public.<br />

Naracoorte Caves<br />

These World Heritage listed caves are one of the world’s most<br />

important fossil sites. For half a million years the caves acted as<br />

pitfall traps <strong>and</strong> predator dens, bones collected – layer upon layer,<br />

year after year – creating a rich fossil record of the ancient<br />

animals. With the caves staying at a constant 17 degrees<br />

centigrade, Naracoorte Caves is a destination for all seasons.<br />

Self-guided, guided <strong>and</strong> adventure caving tours are available<br />

year-round.<br />

Campsites <strong>and</strong> vehicle entry must be booked online prior to arrival.<br />
