■ Overview<br />

In addition to the simple delivery of spare parts, with many<br />

products, we also offer you the option of an exchange. This has<br />

the advantage that you not only receive the spare part quickly,<br />

but are able to return the defective device to us for a credit. You<br />

therefore receive our spare part at the lower exchange price.<br />

A credit will be awarded on condition that the repair code indicates<br />

that repurchasing is admissible, a replacement is obtained<br />

from the spare parts store, and that the returned product is<br />

repairable.<br />

costs. We can help you to reduce both to a minimum – with<br />

our worldwide repair facilities. The advantage for you: Defects<br />

can be rectified before they cause further harm.<br />

Repair is a favorable option when you have specific reasons<br />

for not replacing the defective device or part with a new one<br />

(delivery as exchange product).<br />

We maintain a global network of Siemens repair shops and<br />

certified partners to ensure that we will always be able to<br />

process your repairs quickly.<br />

We can offer you different types of repair depending on your<br />

requirements:<br />

Repair<br />

Function repair<br />

A function repair is the same as a normal repair but excludes the<br />

repair of cosmetic defects, e.g. scratches, labels, discoloration.<br />

The conditions applicable to function repairs should be observed<br />

in this case. The function repair service is only available<br />

for machine manufacturers or machine operators. Please ask<br />

your regional Siemens contact.<br />

For repairs, we require the following information:<br />

Normal repair<br />

■ Benefits<br />

Normal repair at standard conditions normally takes 10 working<br />

days following receipt of the defective item at our repair shop.<br />

Fast repair<br />

In particularly urgent cases, we offer you the option of a fast<br />

repair within 1 or 2 working days for many products at additional<br />

cost.<br />

Turnaround repair<br />

With a turnaround repair, we organize on your behalf collection<br />

of the device/component to be repaired.<br />

Mobile repair service<br />

We come to you and perform the required repairs on site, for<br />

example, when the device/component cannot be removed due<br />

to its weight.<br />
