Electrical planning of power distribution systems in functional<br />
and industrial buildings has never been easy and is now more<br />
complex than ever. The electrical calculation software tools<br />
SIMARIS design for dimensioning and SIMARIS project for determination<br />
of the distribution boards’ space requirements support<br />
technical planners with the electrical planning process with<br />
SINAMICS <strong>drives</strong>.<br />

■ Overview<br />
SIMARIS design is a planning tool for quick and effective network<br />
calculation and dimensioning of power distribution for nonresidential<br />
and industrial buildings.<br />
Starting in the planning phase, the entire electrical circuit required<br />
for the project can be structured and dimensioned on the<br />
basis of real products. For this purpose, the network structure is<br />
initially set up based on the stored modules for infeeds, couplings,<br />
distributors and branch circuits. It is also possible to reuse<br />
stored favorites, such as those processed for previous similar<br />
projects. Suitable components and distribution systems are<br />
then automatically selected from the product database stored in<br />
SIMARIS design based on the selected project-specific parameters<br />
and technical data. This precludes the extra costs so often<br />
incurred in the implementation phase as a result of systems that<br />
have not been correctly coordinated.<br />
Any configuration of electric power distribution is subject to frequent<br />
change and adaptation, not only in the planning phase,<br />
but also in the implementation phase. SIMARIS design makes it<br />
easy to incorporate such changes in the supply concept and to<br />
automatically check their reliability in terms of sound engineering<br />
practice and the currently applicable standards.<br />
SIMARIS design professional, a program version available for a<br />
fee, offers additional useful functions. It can be used to carry out<br />
and also document selectivity analyses, essential for safety<br />
power supply systems. There is also the option of analyzing and<br />
optimizing the energy efficiency of the planned network.<br />
The versatile output variants enable precise documentation of<br />
the project structure and of the calculated data suitable for every<br />
phase of a project.<br />
There is also the option of exporting the project data. This enables<br />
further processing of the planned project in SIMARIS project,<br />
and thus also supports and facilitates system planning.<br />

SIMARIS design is a software tool for the network calculation<br />
and dimensioning of power distribution for non-residential and<br />
industrial buildings. Whether for a shopping center, a hospital or<br />
production facilities - with SIMARIS design you can reduce the<br />
overhead required for the overall planning of power distribution<br />
systems and hence the time spent on the selection and dimensioning<br />
of equipment.<br />
