eroes have been on everyone’s minds lately. We’ve gained greater appreciation for what lengths some people go to in order to serve others. There are technology heroes working behind the scenes to keep businesses operating in the office and at home– the ones who keep businesses running the best and safest way possible. They handle everything from security, making sure workers and data are safe, to keeping workplaces clean and safe. SHAWN MASSA CEO of Golden Tech In 2020, they got the added responsibility of equipping workers to do their jobs remotely. When the pandemic hit, Golden Tech employees realized their clients’ needs were going to change. “It dawned on us everybody is going home,” said Shawn Massa, CEO of Golden Tech. “We took customers’ names and as a team, started calling our clients. What are your plans, and what are you going to do?” Golden Tech is a family owned technology company located at 2402 Beech Street in Valparaiso. They specialize in Managed IT Services, Code Computing, Data Backup and Recovery and more. (219-462-7200 | www.golden-tech.com) Earlier in the year, they loaned out equipment and sent employees out to pack up workstations for clients. Those clients arranged for each employee to arrive at a certain time to pick up the contents of their desks. “It was an eerie feeling to pack up other peoples’ desks,” Massa added, “It almost feels like you’re rearranging someone’s office.” She mentioned that clients also ordered “a lot of laptops” for employees.
