During the pandemic period, especially disinfectant and<br />
cologne broke records. There was an increase in demand for<br />
hygiene and cleaning products, pharmaceuticals and medical<br />
products, disposable plastic products and packaging products.<br />
During the pandemic period, our exports of Covid-19 products,<br />
including disinfectants, cologne, medicine, soap and diagnostic<br />
kits in the chemical substances and products sector, increased<br />
by 212.73 percent in 2020 compared to 2019, reaching 524.4<br />
million dollars.<br />
According to the data of the first three quarters of 2020, while<br />
the chemical industry exports decreased by 23.1 percent in<br />
the world, the Turkish chemical industry exports decreased by<br />
only 4.6 percent. The share of our industry in world exports<br />
increased and became 0.7.<br />
What are your future predictions for the impact of the<br />
pandemic on the sectors? What are your suggestions for the<br />
industry to turn the crisis into an opportunity in this period?<br />
In the fight against pandemic, it is necessary to increase market<br />
diversity in order to minimize the risk in exports. Our chemical<br />
industry, on the other hand, comes first among 27 sectors with<br />
the most exports to countries and regions every month. The<br />
pandemic has shown us the importance of domestic production<br />
in supply and the need not to depend on one place. In the new<br />
order that will occur after the pandemic, it seems that digital<br />
transformation, e-commerce, e-export and artificial intelligence<br />
will occupy our agenda more. Our export companies need to<br />
prioritize these issues in this regard and invest in branding,<br />
R&D and innovation.<br />
After the pandemic, our country is expected to stand out in<br />
terms of logistics and supply. In order for our companies to<br />
benefit from these opportunities, it is of great importance that<br />
they increase their capital, increase their production capacity,<br />
and switch to environment-friendly and value-added product<br />
production structures. Considering the European Green<br />
Consensus, the production of green products targeting zero<br />
carbon emission will provide an advantage in exports and will<br />
also appear as a necessity.<br />
In particular, in the socio-economic order that is predicted to<br />
be newly established, the importance of the chemical sector<br />
will increase in terms of producing drugs, vaccines and medical<br />
products in our country and fighting more effectively in possible<br />
viral epidemics. It should also be made possible to produce<br />
domestic production in these areas and high-tech products in<br />
the field of biological medicine.<br />
Pandemi sonrası oluşacak yeni düzende dijital dönüşüm,<br />
e-ticaret, e-ihracat, yapay zeka konuları gündemimizi daha<br />
çok meşgul edecek gibi görünüyor. İhracatçı firmalarımızın bu<br />
açıdan bu konulara öncelik vermeleri ve yine markalaşmaya, arge<br />
ve inovasyona yatırım yapmaları gerekiyor.<br />
Pandemi sonrası ülkemizin lojistik ve tedarik bakımından öne<br />
çıkması bekleniyor. Firmalarımızın da bu oluşacak fırsatlardan<br />
yararlanabilmesi için sermayelerini arttırmaları, üretim<br />
kapasitelerini arttırmaları, çevreye duyarlı ve katma değerli<br />
ürün üretim yapılarına geçmeleri büyük önem taşıyor. Avrupa<br />
Yeşil Mutabakat’ını da göz önünde bulundurursak sıfır karbon<br />
emisyonu hedefleyen yeşil ürünlerin üretimi ihracatta avantaj<br />
sağlarken aynı zamanda bir zorunluluk olarak da karşımıza<br />
çıkacak.<br />
Özellikle, yeni kurulacağı öngörülen sosyo ekonomik düzende<br />
kimya sektörünün ilaç, aşı ve medikal ürünlerin ülkemizde<br />
üretilebilmesi ve muhtemel virütik salgınlarda daha etkin<br />
mücadele edebilmesi noktasında önemi artacak. Bu alanlarda<br />
yerli üretimin ve biyolojik ilaç alanında da yüksek teknolojili<br />
ürünlerin üretilebilmesi de mümkün kılınmalı.
