The Decline of Empires (Sold limited edition
of 10 prints) – Acrylic on canvas 80cm x 80cm 4cm
This is the digital remix of a remix painting,
A STATE OF HIGHER TRANSIENCE
THE DECLINE OF EMPIRES
This painting THE DECLINE OF EMPIRES and the music are a
reflection of 2020 through my lens. For the first time, I created
the painting and the music simultaneously. As I worked on the
ideas I wanted to show on the painting, I composed the music,
and while I painted, I worked through the music in my mind.
Acrylic on Canvas
74cm x 74cm 4cm
A STATE OF HIGHER TRANSIENCE
This is a reinterpretation of that original work. This can be
part of a conversation between the original paintings
concept, an agreement or can be taken into a whole different
direction and meaning. Limited edition of 10 - Signed and
numbered by the artist Once 10 have been sold the original
file is destroyed.
SPINE
He uses
music as his main
source of inspiration. His
art transforms the memories
and emotions evoked while
listening to music into
dynamic and expressive
brushstrokes on
canvas.
This painting, SPINE, is not about what to add more, but it is
about knowing when to stop: while using rapid brush strokes
and mixing the paint directly onto the canvas surface, I tried
to cause the layers to move together in unison and at the
same time rise barriers. Painted while listening to the
complex compressive metal song Lateralus, by Tool, I
juxtapose the two different energies against each other on
the surface in order to create depth. This painting was
shortlisted for the 2019 Refresh Art Prize
