Dubai’s Downtown DESIGN WEEK <strong>2021</strong><br />

Dubai Design Week is an<br />
annual event held to<br />
celebrate and promote<br />
design and creativity<br />
in Dubai, United Arab<br />
Emirates. Encouraging Dubai’s<br />
status as the design capital <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Middle East, this mega annual event<br />
curates inventive that showcases<br />
architecture, products, furniture and<br />
interior design.<br />
The eighth edition <strong>of</strong> Downtown<br />
Design Week will be taking place<br />
from Monday November 8 until Friday<br />
November 12 at the d3 Waterfront<br />
and will include both regional and<br />
international creatives and brands.<br />
Dubai Design Week exhibits<br />
regional talents and invites various<br />
international studios and artists<br />
to share their ingenuity with local<br />
communities. By connecting brands<br />
with buyers, Downtown Design<br />
Week serves as a channel for the<br />
region’s design industry to navigate<br />
the opportunities and challenges<br />
presented by the new world.<br />

a spotlight on works from 100 <strong>of</strong><br />
the most innovative universities in<br />

Exclusive pieces by regional<br />
exhibitor Etqaan who is working<br />
with local design duo, the talented<br />
Abu Dhabi based designers Fouad<br />
Mirza and Ritchie Nolasco, to create<br />
contemporary expressions <strong>of</strong> their<br />
traditional Egyptian marquetry<br />
furniture will be present. Ediciones<br />
Jalapa <strong>of</strong> Mexico Design Festival<br />
‘Abierto Mexicano de Diseño’ will<br />
present a new collection <strong>of</strong> furniture<br />
made from palm leaves – a material<br />
specially chosen to resonate with<br />
the region and, Ben-Tovim Design<br />
<strong>of</strong> Melbourne International Design<br />
Week who will reveal a unique<br />
furniture piece designed exclusively<br />
for the local market.<br />
Downtown Design <strong>2021</strong> edition is<br />
set to be the largest and the most<br />
diverse edition. Compared to last<br />
year, the number <strong>of</strong> exhibitors will<br />
be double, with some 90 exhibitors<br />
from 24 different countries.<br />
