mother nature In that phone call Leah’s words echoed catastrophe, disaster, and heartbreak as she frantically told her dad, “You won’t recognize the place!” — Leah Crock Lee headed to town to attend a few meetings, including a stop at the local FS office and the bank, while his wife, Lori, and oldest son, Luke, headed to Mt. Vernon. Their three other children – Lindsay, Leah, and Logan – stayed home. Lee was excited about his corn crop and felt strongly about the potential yields he was going to harvest in the fall. But, as he sat in his truck waiting to go into the bank and tell them his good news, he noticed the wind picking up and a tree going down on a truck nearby. Within 20 minutes he received a phone call from his daughter that will be forever etched in his mind; one that will forever change his life, the landscape of their operation, and the future of Crock Farms.
