Over Easter<br />

We wish everyone an enjoyable long<br />

weekend. The following changes to<br />

Council services and facilities apply for<br />

Easter weekend.<br />

Council Service Centres and Libraries<br />

Service Centres will be closed and re-open on<br />

Tuesday 6<strong>April</strong>.<br />

All libraries will be open on Saturday 3<strong>April</strong>,<br />

and closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday<br />

and Easter Monday.<br />

Rubbish and Recycling Collection<br />

Bins and bags collected on Good Friday move<br />

to Saturday 3<strong>April</strong>. The text alert will still<br />

advise to put bags and bins out on Friday –<br />

we apologise for any confusion.<br />

Transfer Stations<br />

Good Friday –the Southbrook Resource<br />

Recovery Park and Oxford Transfer Station<br />

are closed.<br />

Easter Sunday –ReSale Store closed, and the<br />

rest of the Recovery Park is open.<br />

Transfer stations will be open as usual for<br />

the remainder of Easter weekend.<br />

The festival was part of New<br />

Zealand Football’s March<br />

national initiative, Girls and<br />

Women’s Month, to help<br />

promote interest in the 2023<br />

Fifa Women’s World Cup, being<br />

jointly hosted by New Zealand<br />

and Australia.<br />

Electric bikes given aspin in car park<br />

WaimakaririMayor Dan Gordon is<br />

considering buyinganotherset of<br />

electric wheels.<br />

Amayorale­bike could soon be<br />

joining the hybrid, sign­written car<br />

in which Mr Gordon is regularly<br />

seen aroundthe district.<br />

The mayor joined with council<br />

staffintaking atestride in the<br />

council car park lastweek when<br />

EvoCycles visited Rangiora.<br />

‘‘Super cool, especially in ‘turbo’<br />

mode,’’ he declared. ‘‘I’m thinking<br />

seriously about getting one.’’<br />

EvoCycles is touring parts of the<br />

SouthIsland as part of an initiative<br />

with localgovernment and district<br />

health boardstoencourage staff to<br />

change to more environmentally<br />

friendly transportfor their<br />

commute.<br />

offering ashort term loan of up to<br />
