Paper/Clay: The Risingholme
Tutor Exhibition
Today
Go along to see the amazing
artworks that can be created
from the simple materials of
paper and clay. The exhibition
opens today at Down By The
Liffey Gallery at 1 James St,
Lincoln, and runs to May 30.
It features handmade prints
from Amanda Hoffmann and
pottery from Della Goodinson
and Tim Brown. All are tutors at
Risingholme Community Centre,
Christchurch. The gallery is
open Wednesday to Thursday
11.30am-2.30pm and Friday to
Sunday 10am-4pm.

Rekindle Spoon Carving
Workshop
Thursday, 5.30-8.30pm
Go along and learn how to
make a spoon, run in conjunction
with Rekindle. You will
learn basic whittling techniques
with straight and curved
whittling knives, and learn all
about the ancient traditions of
greenwood-working. Bookings

Learn how to prepare trees
for regular crops of high quality
fruit. Local pip-fruit production
expert Keith Dickson, assisted
by fellow enthusiast Errol Wood,
will focus on the training and
pruning of apple, pear and nashi
trees. Plenty of time will be available
for questions and a general
discussion of fruit tree maintenance.
A gold coin donation

the activities of the venue’s
gardens, located on James St at
the rear of the Lincoln Maternity

Hororata Glow Festival
Saturday, 3pm onwards
Hot air balloons from around
New Zealand will converge for
the festival, and glow in unison
to music for the main feature of
the Night Glow. New for 2021
will be a dramatic lighting effects
show set to wow the crowd
with DJ Craig Shaw cranking
the tunes. The festival will offer
a chance to walk inside a giant
hot air balloon and chat to the
pilots, as well as a range of stalls,
glowing fairground and glow
circus, and fun new area of the
UV art zone. Tickets through
