WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
The best business professionals are always
looking forward, but you may find yourself
being even more future-focused than usual.
As vaccines continue to roll out globally, our
eyes are fixed on taking that longed-for vacation,
visiting with old friends and missed family
members, and trying to plan for what work and
life will look like in the future.
We’re coming out of an incredibly challenging time, yet one of profound
self-discovery. We’ve learned new skills. We plumbed the depths of our
flexibility. We have a more complete understanding of what gives us energy,
and what takes it away. We’ve forged new connections despite the distance,
and we have achieved clarity that only comes through trial.
When I walk the halls of the Pappajohn Business Building, I see the future.
I see students learning the skills to solve today’s challenges as well as
tomorrow’s. I see faculty engaged in research that will guide and support
industries. I see a living organization with 100+ years of connections, talent,
and vision continuing to evolve into a great place to work and learn.
Wherever you go after you leave this campus, you’re always a Hawkeye. It
can feel natural to think of this place as merely part of your past, yet as you
read in these pages about the Tippie Leadership Collaborative, wrestle with
the future of work, and check in with your career ambitions, I encourage you
to consider how the Tippie College of Business could be part of your future.
