THREE RESOURCES FOR YOUR BUSINESS
“When companies are facing a business challenge, we want them
to think of Tippie as their solution.”
—DEAN AMY KRISTOF-BROWN
CUSTOM EXECUTIVE EDUCATION
Design a development experience
that challenges and excites your
future leaders. Our executive
education programs range from
half-day workshops to year-long
programming.
“We view the University of Iowa
as a trusted partner who takes an
inquisitive approach to developing
customized programs. They started
by asking questions to understand
who we are, what our needs are,
and how they could best deliver
content that is going to be impactful,
retained, and utilized. Through
collaboration with faculty experts,
the content is aligned to topics HNI,
as a company, is prioritizing. The
facilitators do a nice job of drawing
out the participants so it’s not a
one-way lecture. At the beginning,
we wondered if a large university
would be as agile as we hoped they
would be. And our experience has
been nothing but great.”
BRAD STOEFEN, training and
development manager at HNI Corp.
RESEARCH PARTNERSHIPS
You have a thorny business
challenge; our faculty researchers
can explore every aspect of
your problem and help you find
innovative solutions.
The U.S. Department of Veterans
Affairs wanted to improve its
patient care while streamlining
service. They also wanted to test
if new modifications met their
goals, so they began working
with Greg Stewart, Mary H. Bell
Chair in Leadership. Together,
they tested to see if health care
delivery could be improved when
individual patients are assigned
long-term, interdisciplinary
teams of coordinated health care
professionals, as opposed to a
random selection of different
doctors, nurses, and clerks for each
visit. In the end, the VA came away
with a thorough study—with design,
training, and analysis developed
in collaboration with Stewart—
demonstrating that assigned teams
were able to know and serve their
patients better.
EXPERT SPEAKERS
Invite our internationally
recognized thought leaders
to share their knowledge and
expertise with your leaders and
staff—either in person or virtually.
“Dr. Jennifer Nahrgang recently
gave a presentation to our local
chapter of the Association of Talent
Development on ‘Why Capable
People Are Reluctant to Lead.’ Her
facilitation style was the perfect
blend of presenting content and
encouraging attendees to actively
participate in the learning
experience. Our members deeply
appreciated the opportunity to
learn about the topic at hand, as
well as about other resources and
opportunities available through the
Tippie Leadership Collaborative.”
JON SEXTON, senior vice president
of culture and leadership development at
the BOTTOM LINE
