6.4 Cooking

6.4.1 Essential Kitchen Tool: The Dashboard

We provided a brief overview of the LEMO2 CourseExplorer in the preparation

section. Now let us get more familiar with the CourseExplorer.

In the Top Menu are several options to configure the CourseExplorer to your

course (Fig. 6.3). Start by choosing your course from the drop-down menu. Then

select your basic configurations for the analysis. If you are uncertain about which

configurations to choose, we recommend that you explore your students’ activities

over time and compare the activities to learning objects to get a nice overview of

your course.

A graph section shown at the center of the LEMO2 course explorer is where your

results are visualized course (Fig. 6.3). The graph section will give you feedback on

whatever nuances you add to your analysis. You can use the cursor (the gray window

below the graph in Fig. 6.3) to interact with the graphs and get the full experience of

your analysis.

In Fig. 6.3, below the graph section is a detail section with a list of detailed

information about the analysis results. You can sort it by clicking a header, such as

name, type, users, activities, average activities per user, and peak activity in terms

of time.

On the right-hand side is an additional filter section that offers four filters for

analyses (Fig. 6.3). Using the filter section, you can set a data range, choose certain

students by grade, and select specific learning objects or types of learning objects.
