This area forms an important visual buffer to the railway line and<br />

creates an open space for informal recreation.<br />

Maintain existing pitch and sports facilities for Midleton Rugby Club<br />

and Midleton College. Proposals for new or improved sports related<br />

facilities may be considered.<br />

These lands form part of the floodplain in the Owenacurra River<br />

and provide open space for informal public recreation including the<br />

provision of an amenity walk connecting with similar proposals in<br />

the town.<br />

Proposals shall include protection of the River Corridor, any development<br />

shall take into consideration Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI)<br />

Guidelines ‘Planning for Watercourses in the Urban Environment’. *<br />

Maintain existing pitch and sports facilities for Midleton FC. Proposals<br />

for new or improved sports related facilities may be permitted.<br />

Maintain existing pitches and sport facilities. This facility could<br />

include new and improved facilities for the GAA, Tennis Court, Gym<br />

and Swimming Pool facilities or other sports complex uses. A direct<br />

pedestrian access to the town centre shall also be provided. *<br />

Protect the special character and amenity value of Ballyannan<br />

Wood. *<br />

This prominent slope makes a significant contribution to the rural<br />

character of Ballinacurra.<br />
